Root and The Fifths are a alternative styled rock band from the hills of Central Pennsylvania. The band consists of vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Jae Smith, and drummer, Tyke Dodson.Root has been compared to the 90's Rock Station on Pandora Radio, and they couldn't be more pleased by the reference.
Formed from the ashes of other past bands, Root solidified it's line up and started playing shows in the Fall in 2013 and quickly gained popularity throughout the local scene. The band has played for many charitable events (Toys for Tots, Burnout Cancer, Relay for Life and numerous smaller individual benefits), larger venues (The Mishler Theater, The Jaffa Mosque, Mansion Park), and smaller clubs and bars all around the area. Jae also represent the band with an acoustic project playing much of the same material.
At the present, Root and The Fifths are currently writing its own material and hope to produce an album in the near future.
