Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the January 27 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM.

Thanks to our guests in the studio this week, area hard rockers End Of The Sun (www.myspace.com/EndOfTheSun), for an interesting and music-packed two hours! We get acquainted with the band members, learned their story to date, and discussed and heard tunes from their debut 5-song EP Closer, which will be officially released on Feb. 9. We also played a tune from guitarist Keith Reyn’s previous project, Condemned Existence, and learned that a Condemned Existence reunion gig is in the works. We also introduced new tunes from G211, Dollarz-n-Sense, Skarma Sutra, Paddywak and Evelyn’s Ashes. Due to an internet disruption at the Q94 studios, we were not able to air Local Music News or “The Professor’s CD Corner” this week (the review of White Witch’s Never Dies the Dream CD will air on Feb. 17 instead).

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

INSIDE OUT – “Taking My Life”
FLIGHT 19 – “3 of a Kind”
END OF THE SUN – “What You Need”
G211 – “Seething”
END OF THE SUN – “Collision”
POKER FACE – “Kontrol”
END OF THE SUN – “Revenge”
DOLLARZ-N-SENSE – “Loaded Gun”
SKARMA SUTRA – “Broken Strings”

HOUR TWO:

WAY DOWN EAST – “My Home”
ACALASIA – “Based on True Stories”
END OF THE SUN – “Eulogy (for the Living)”
WHITE WITCH – “Underneath the Lights”
CONDEMNED EXISTENCE – “Vigilante”
SUBDUE – “Falling Away”
END OF THE SUN – “Supernova”
PADDYWAK – “All You Needed”
EVELYN’S ASHES – “Intro/The Innocent”

Next Sunday night, we know what we’re up against…So if you could care less about who wins the big football game, tune in to the “Backyard Rocker” for our annual “Super Bowl Widow’s Special!” For two hours, we’ll turn the spotlight on to the ladies of the local and regional music scene! We’ll hear music from ladies who sing and play instruments on area stages. We’ll also check on Local Music News, and review a CD or two from lady performers in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” So if New England’s quest for perfection doesn’t interest you, tune in to the “Super Bowl Widow’s Special edition of the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night! (And even if you are interested in the game, turn the TV volume down and turn the “Backyard Rocker” up!)

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

FEB. 10 – Local Music Live in Concert
FEB. 24 – Millennium Music Conference Recap Special
MAR. 2 – 10th Anniversary Special w/Felix & the Hurricanes
MAR. 9 – Acoustic Jam Special
MAR. 23 – My Turning Point
MAR. 30 – Dollarz-n-Sense
APR. 6 – Ledbetter Heights
APR. 20 – Chris V. & the Stanley Street Band
