Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 24 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBXQ 94.3.

The 12th annual Millennium Music Conference (www.mmc12.com) took place last weekend, Feb. 14-17, at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center in Camp Hill near Harrisburg. Q94’s “Backyard Rocker” was there, and this week, we recapped the Millennium Music Conference. We discussed the conference, aired interview and other sound clips from the conference, and played music from some of the nearly 300 different bands and artists who performed in the Harrisburg area during Millennium weekend. We also reviewed a CD from a Millennium performer in “The Professor’s CD Corner;” checking out The Programaddicts’ Technology Baby CD. (The review can be read in the “Backyard Rocker” section of the message board area on Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com.)

Again, congratulations to Reading-based singer/songwriter Valerie Nicole, whose CD was drawn from the many recordings submitted to the “Backyard Rocker” during the Millennium Music Conference. Valerie won an interview and guest appearance slot on the March 16 edition of the “Backyard Rocker!”

For anybody who wants to hear the Millennium Recap special edition of the “Backyard Rocker” (particularly anybody outside of Q94’s listening area), you can download an mp3 of the entire 2-hour program broadcast on the home page of Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com. You can also check out a 7-part recap summary of the Millennium Music Conference in the “Backyard Rocker” section of the message board, under “Local Music News.”

Next Sunday night, Q94’s “Backyard Rocker” celebrates TEN YEARS ON THE AIR! And we will be celebrating and partying hardy on the annual “Backyard Rocker” Anniversary Special, a 3-hour gala starting at 7 PM! We’ll feature show highlights from the first ten years, plus some highlights from the past year. And since they were the very first band guests we had in studio when the “Backyard Rocker” first hit the airwaves in 1998, Felix & the Hurricanes will be making their annual visit to the Q94 studios to help the celebration – and word is, they have a surprise or two up their sleeves for this momentous occasion! We’ll also review Rise Phoenix Rise’s CD, The Land of Oohs and Aahs, in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” We mark ten years of the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night starting at 7!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

MAR. 9 – Acoustic Jam Special
MAR. 16 – Valerie Nicole
MAR. 23 – My Turning Point
MAR. 30 – Dollarz-n-Sense
APR. 6 – Ledbetter Heights
APR. 20 – Chris V. & the Stanley Street Band

The "Backyard Rocker" is happy to announce its continued partnership with "The Underground TV," the local/regional music television show airing on WWPC Fox 8 Sunday and Monday mornings at 1 AM. Check out "The Underground" as it features different unsigned local and regional bands every week; and watch for "Backyard Rocker" updates on the show each week as well! Their new television season kicks off March 6!
