Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 1 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBXQ 94.3.

Thanks to our guests in the studio this week, 80% of Williamsport-based quintet Sarah Fleck & the Palpitations, for a fun and insightful two hours! We met the band members, learned their story, and heard songs from their CD Blue Jeans & Daydreams; plus several lucky listeners called in to win copies of the CD! We also took our first phone-in qualifiers for the new month of June for Q94’s Harley-Davidson Softtail Deluxe, being given away on June 14. In addition, we introduced new tunes from Shoot the Moon, the Rustlanders and 61 South, updated Local Music News, and reviewed JustMegan’s I Get What I Want CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” (The review can be read in the “Backyard Rocker” section of the message board area on Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com.) Another busy week!

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

ACALASIA – “So Much for the Railcar”
G211 – “Seething”
SARAH FLECK & THE PALPITATIONS – “Aviator Baby”
SHOOT THE MOON – “This Hurt”
SARAH FLECK & THE PALPITATIONS – “Iridescent Lover”

Next Sunday night, our guests in the studio will be the York-based rock band Evelyn’s Ashes! We’ll meet the band members and learn their story, plus hear songs from their CD Far Away, plus listeners will have chances to call and win a copy! We’ll also take some more phone-in qualifiers for the Harley, hear tunes from other local and regional bands and artists, and review Roadkill’s new CD, The Wreckoning, in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Evelyn’s Ashes visits the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

A new Altoona-based rock band has risen from the ashes of the former Decision Day. The group’s current working name is Moxie, and features former Decision Day members Ryan Dibert on lead vocals and J.D.
