Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the July 13 edition of Q94's weekly local music program, "The Backyard Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WBXQ 94.3.

Better late than never…One week after technical problems put the “Backyard Rocker” off the air for the first time in the program’s history, we aired our in-studio conversation with McConnellsburg hard-rockers Blakkjak. We learned about the band, and heard songs from the group’s debut CD Deal Us In. We also aired a conversation with Kent Tonkin and Bob Lee of The Grimm, who are organizing the first annual “Ride for Hope” benefit motorcycle run and concert for the American Cancer Society. The event begins and ends on Saturday, August 9 at the Anchor Inn near Prince Gallitzin State Park. (For more information, visit the website www.myspace.com/thegrimmband.) And we reviewed the self-titled debut CD from Bloomsburg-based hard rockers Recoil in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” (The review can be read in the “Backyard Rocker” section of the message board area on Q94’s website, www.wbxq.com.)

Here is this week’s playlist:

HOUR ONE:

JACKSON MONSOUR – “July 5th”
LOWJACK – “Vacation from Everyone”
BLAKKJAK – “Faded”
WAY DOWN EAST – “Deep In My Head”
BLAKKJAK – “Albatross”
ROADKILL – “War Is Hell (And Love Ain’t Far Behind)”
BLAKKJAK – “Step Back”
THE GRIMM – “Raise the Line”

HOUR TWO:

SOUND DRIVEN – “Antelopium”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Little Ears”
BLAKKJAK – “Blakkjak”
RECOIL – “Sea of Tranquility”
BLAKKJAK – “I’ll Be”
SATANIC BAT – “Norse Sagas”
BLAKKJAK – “Blitzkrieg Destruction”

Next Sunday night, with no guests scheduled, we will again take the opportunity to check the “Backyard Rocker” mailbox and air music from some of the new recordings that have arrived in recent weeks. We will also update Local Music News, and review a local CD or two in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” Maximun local and regional music come to play on the “Backyard Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:
