Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the Nov. 9 edition of Rocky 104.9's new weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 9 to 11 PM during Pittsburgh Steelers football season. (The show will air from 8 to 10 PM after the Steelers' season concludes.)

This week, we again debuted plenty of new recordings that arrived at “Homegrown Rocker” headquarters in recent weeks. Listeners heard new tunes from Like A Movie, Little Buddy, Jennifer Drummey and the Small Band, Punchline, The Jellybricks, Spirit Lost, We Are Forever, Safari So Good, Stasis and The Courage Pills. We also updated Local Music News, and reviewed Nitekast’s The Beginning and the End CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

FAYTED – “Keep Smilin’”
FLIGHT 19 – “Migraine ‘08”
LIKE A MOVIE – “I Took The Bullet”
ACALASIA – “The Endless Waltz”
LITTLE BUDDY – “Dig Dig Dig (My Wife’s Digging My Grave)”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Walking a Straight Line”
JENNIFER DRUMMEY AND THE SMALL BAND – “Say You Will”
THOMAS ROUE – “Route 30 Lullaby”
PUNCHLINE – “The Hit”
THE JELLYBRICKS – “Eyes Wide”
SPIRIT LOST – “Mistrust”

NITEKAST – “Stay Strong”
SAFARI SO GOOD – “The Right to Arm Bears”
THE OPPOSITION – “Finger Lickin’”

THE COURAGE PILLS – “Open Our Eyes”
VALERIE NICOLE – “Fed Up”
CHRIS V. & THE STANLEY STREET BAND – “Media Controls the World”
THE RUSTLANDERS – “My Rock N Roll”

Next Sunday night, our guest in the studio will be Clint Carothers. Currently playing drums for Half Tempted, Clint has been in the studio working on solo song material, and we’ll hear some of those songs and Clint’s thoughts on them. Clint was also the drummer for popular Altoona rock band The Front, and he’ll fill us in on details about The Front’s upcoming 25th anniversary reunion concert, happening on Thanksgiving weekend. Along the way, we’ll update Local Music News, and review The Jellybricks’ latest CD, Goodnight to Everyone, in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Clint Carothers visits the “Homegrown Rocker,” next Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

NOV. 30 – LOCAL MUSIC LIVE IN CONCERT SPECIAL
DEC. 21 – CHRISTMAS SPECIAL w/JOHN CIMINO (LORDS-A-LEAPING)
DEC. 28 – 2008 YEAR IN REVIEW SPECIAL

In Local Music News.

Johnstown’s Inside Out is getting closer to releasing their new full-length
album. In advance of that release, the group has issued a three-song EP
called Unbreakable. That EP is available at the group’s shows.

Johnstown heavy metallists The Embalmed have issued their new self-titled CD. That disc can be purchased at the group’s shows, and will soon be available for purchase online.

And Felix & the Hurricanes are headed back to prison. For the seventh year, the Hurricanes will be doing a performance tour of Pennsylvania state penitentiaries, bringing their brand of classic and blues-flavored rock to captive audiences. At present, this year’s tour stands at 24 state prison facilities. Rocky 104.9 does not advocate listeners committing criminal acts so they can attend these Hurricanes performances!
