Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the May 31 edition of Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com).

With no guests scheduled, we again took the opportunity to get caught up on new local and regional CD’s that arrived at “Homegrown Rocker” headquarters in recent weeks. We debuted many new songs this week, from such names as Inside Out, Halestorm, Daily Daily (from Los Angeles, featuring former Juiced singer Carrie Rappaport), Deadshot, Haley Sheeler, Ben Hardt and His Symphony, Iroquois Confederacy, Megan McGrory, Dick and the Deer Gutters, Pan.a.ce.a, Coilcell and The Embalmed. We also updated Local Music News, and checked out a 1993 tune from western Pennsylvania's Dancing Linda for a Local Music Flashback. In addition, we reviewed South Saturn Delta's Drink from the Well CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” Again, another busy week!

Here is this week's playlist:

We’ll also update Local Music News, hear a past band for a Local Music Flashback, and review Little Buddy’s new CD 3 Hour Tour in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” Mysterytrain in the spotlight this Sunday night on the “Homegrown Rocker!”

In Local Music News…

First, an update on the future endeavors of one half of former acoustic duo Rock & Rye…Ryan “Rye” Clark has announced the formation of his new band, called Hard Drive. According to Ryan, the new four-piece band will play an upbeat mixture of current and classic rock, and will be making their debut on Altoona area stages this summer.

In band personnel moves, singer Deb Demko has parted ways with local classic rockers The Red Arrow. Meanwhile, local hardcore rockers Drain The Sorrow have hired on a bass player, as Nick Soto joins their roster.

And after an eight-year run that took them across the country and featured Brian Setzer writing a song for them, The Marauders have decided to step aside. Lead singer and guitarist Ben Dumm is reportedly exploring an acoustic-based project or two, and is collaborating with John Charney. Bassist Chris Lawson is reportedly working with another local roots-based rock group…more details as they become available.
