Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the November 8 edition of Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 9 to 11 PM during Steelers football season.

With no guests scheduled this week, we got caught up on new local and regional recordings that arrived at “Homegrown Rocker” headquarters in recent weeks. We debuted new songs from Ganister, Chris Nelson, A Crucifying Feeling and Ledbetter Heights; updated Local Music News, dug into the local music archive to pull out a 1999 song by Erotic Acid for a “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed The Badlees’ Love Is Rain CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” A busy week!

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

HELLO, VIXEN – Grandpa’s Medicine”
THE HOPE FALLACY – “Caroline St.”
GANISTER – “Saving Grace”
FLIGHT 19 – “Liquid Courage”
HALESTORM – “It’s Not You”
XHIBITION – “Til Hell Freezes Over”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “The Feeling”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “Travelers Not Forgotten”
CHRIS NELSON – “Primal Urges”
T.J. CORNWALL – “Three Wishes”
CRUX – “Chillin’ Out”

A CRUCIFYING FEELING – “The Pumpkin Method”
THE BADLEES – “Way Back Home”
LEDBETTER HEIGHTS – “Tidal Wave”

MARK DEROSE BAND – “Bounce”
DUBMISSIVE – “Something to Believe”
THE AVANTGARDE – “Demon Eyes”
HEAD CASE – “The World We Know”

This Sunday night, our guests will be Keith Reynolds and Brian Stotler. Both are collaborating on an independent record label project, and will be discussing details about that venture. Keith will also discuss his recording studio, Fourth Dimension Audio, and we will hear songs from some of the bands that are currently recording projects there. We’ll also update Local Music News, review Pan.a.ce.a’s We The Broken CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner,” and dig into the archives for a “Local Music Flashback!” Keith Reynolds and Brian Stotler on the “Homegrown Rocker,” this Sunday night!

In Local Music News…

First, several upcoming benefit shows to discuss...Pennsylvania Musician Magazine and 30 Something in Greenwood will again present a benefit concert to raise money and toys for the U.S. Marine Corps’ “Toys for Tots” program, to assist needy children and families this upcoming holiday season. The concert will take place on Saturday night, November 21 starting at 8:30 at 30 Something, and will feature performances from the bands Rapid Fire, Nitekast, Represent The Lie, Shallow 9 and Mysterytrain. Donation at the door will be either $5 or a new unopened toy of equal or greater value.

The Billy Price Band will headline the annual "Night of Rock, Rhythm & Blues" benefit on Thanksgiving Eve at Ace's Lounge in Johnstown. The annual benefit will again raise funds for the Johnstown Free Medical Clinic, which provides medical help to those who can't afford health insurance. The show will begin at 9 PM. We'll have more details as they become available.

Chris Vipond & the Stanley Street Band has been added to the bill for the third annual Mya's Miracle Autism benefit show, which takes place at Altoona's Bavarian Hall on Saturday night, November 28. The British Invasion, performing their final show, will headline the event. Proceeds from the benefit will go to the Autism Speaks Blair County Walk Now for Autism. The show begins at 7 PM; and tickets are $15, which includes both the music and a dinner buffet.

Bedford’s Jackson Monsour has finished work on his third studio CD. The new self-titled disc is expected to be released next month. Jackson will be a guest on the “Homegrown Rocker” on January 10 of next year.

And changes for the Bedford band formerly known as Kun-Tajus...The group and drummer Jack Carrigan have parted ways, and the group has since changed their name to Borrowed Time.
