Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the January 10 edition of Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com).

With no guests in studio, we featured a variety of new tunes, curios and other interesting stuff from area bands and artists. We debuted new tunes from the Badlees, Nick Finochio, 39 Goodbyes, Ruder Than You, The Slant, Miz and Coilcell. We updated Local Music News, reviewed Camela Widad Kraemer’s Before You’re Gone CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner,” and dug into the local music archive for a 2002 song by Bloody Wally for a “Local Music Flashback!”

Here is this week's playlist:

In Local Music News…

The State College-based band Royal Benson starts recording their debut CD this week. The group is recording the disc at After 7 Studios in Mechanicsburg.

Local entertainer Zupe is close to releasing his ballroom dance music album. The disc, simply called Dance, is currently being pressed in Minneapolis, and should be released within the next few days.

Pittsburgh singer/songwriter Brad Yoder will begin recording his next CD this week. Yoder returns to the area to perform at a coffeehouse venue in Huntingdon on Friday, January 22.

And speedy get well wishes go out to Side Effects frontman Brian Stotler, set to have surgery on his leg this week.
