Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the February 28 edition of Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com).

Last weekend, the “Homegrown Rocker” was in Harrisburg, representing at the 14th annual Millennium Music Conference (www.musicconference.net). On this night’s program, we recapped the conference, featuring audio and interviews from the event, and music from some of the estimated 270 bands and artists that showcased in the Harrisburg area throughout Millennium weekend. We heard tunes from local representatives like Chris Vipond & the Stanley Street Band, Vs. the Earth and Mindspine; regional Pennsylvania Millennium participants such as Pan.a.ce.a, Mycenea Worley, Johnny Action Figure, The Sketties, Iroquois Confederacy, Waysted Sylence, The Dead End Cruisers, Valerie Nicole and Chasing Darwin. Chasing Darwin’s CD was the one randomly drawn from the “Homegrown Rocker” drop box at the Millennium trade show, and they won a guest slot and interview on the March 21 program! We also heard tunes from some of the out-of-state participants at Millennium, such as New Jersey’s Rahway, Nashville’s Jennings, California’s GrooveSession, Washington D.C.’s Gallons to Ounces, New York’s Finespun, Connecticut’s Graffiti Thrill, and the group that logged the most miles to be at this year’s conference, Japan’s Imari Tones! We also gave away Millennium CD prize packs to four lucky listeners! And we reviewed The Dead End Cruisers A Thousand Miles of Whiskey and Sin in the "Professor's CD Corner!"
