I was saddened to learn about the passing of a young area singer and musician, Nicole Knepp-Lytle. I first met Nikki when she was a teen, and she was a contestant during Dennie Huber's annual "Crazy Fest" youth talent show. She later became the lead singer for the band Issues for a short time. She had a great voice, and I remember having fun chats with her when I saw her around the area. My sincerest condolences to her surviving family and friends.

I have two pictures of Nikki to share; the first was from when she competed in the April, 2005 edition of "Crazy Fest." (She was competing in the age 17-18 division that year.) The second is Nikki and Don Hughes performing at downtown Altoona's Heritage Plaza in August, 2004.

Wow! She had a lot of talent... such a shame people are being taken so early in life.
