Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 25 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

This week, we returned to the mailboxes to check on new recordings that have arrived in recent weeks. As a result, we debuted plenty of new music, including songs from Sterling Koch, Doug Forshey & Chris Strait, The Crooked Line, The Jakob's Ferry Stragglers, Lenina Crowne, Matt Otis & the Sound, Fyre, Lady, Cousin Boneless, The Dirty Charms and the Jukehouse Bombers. We also updated "Local Music News," dug into the archive for a 1989 number from Lancaster's Time Bomb for our "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear a new tune from New Jersey's Rahway, and reviewed Young Lungs' Reset CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

GRANATI BROTHERS - "The Show"
ZACH WADE & THE GOOD GRIEF - "From a Coma"
STERLING KOCH - "Holiday"
NAG CHAMPIONS - "Morning Star Afterglow"
DOUG FORSHEY & CHRIS STRAIT - "Skeleton Man"
MAMA CORN - "Goodbye Comfort Home"
THE CROOKED LINE - "Kansas Now"
THE JAKOB'S FERRY STRAGGLERS - "Old Red Hill"
LENINA CROWNE - "Time"
MATT OTIS & THE SOUND - "Melancholia"

HOUR TWO:

SMALL TOWN HORROR SHOW - "Storm of the Century"
FYRE - "Thy Will Be Done"
LADY - "Lullaby"
YOUNG LUNGS - "Battle Cry"
COUSIN BONELESS - "Dagger's Path"
TIME BOMB - "Bad Boy Walking" (1989, Local Music Flashback)
RAHWAY - "Racecar" (Across State Lines)
GUN METAL GRAY - "We Are One"
THE DIRTY CHARMS - "Love's So Cruel"
THE JUKEHOUSE BOMBERS - "Nothin' to Lose"

For our next program, we present the annual installment of the "Cover Song Special!" We will explore how area bands and musicians cover and interpret the music of other (mostly famous) bands and artists! Hear local and regional renditions of tunes from the Allman Brothers, Raspberries, Rolling Stones, Badfinger, Turtles, Beatles, Rush, Smithereens and many more!

Upcoming guests and specials include:

JULY 9 - Doug Forshey
JULY 16 - 13 Saints
JULY 30 - Mama Corn ("Fishin' Musician" Special)
AUG. 20 - Matt Otis & the Sound

(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)
