Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the August 6 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

We returned to the mailboxes this week to see what new recordings have arrived in recent weeks. We debuted lots of new music, including tunes from the Billy Price Band, The Commonheart, Pure Cane Sugar, Beauty Slap, Cousin Boneless, Under Indictment, C. Scott and the Beltonesc One Adam 12 and Jonah Whale. Along the way, we updated "Local Music News," dug a 1995 live performance track from Terminal Zero from the archive for our "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear a song from New Jersey-based independent artists Jaded Past, and reviewed 13 Saints' Crushing Copper CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

MEDUSA'S DISCO - "Twisted Dentist"
PHOBOS ANOMALY - "Breaking in the Tomb of God"
BILLY PRICE BAND - "It Ain't a Juke Joint Without the Blues" (live)
THE COMMONHEART - "You Need a Man"
PURE CANE SUGAR - "Crazy"
THE CREW OF THE HALF MOON - "Luxury"
BEAUTY SLAP - "Griz - DTW to DIA (Beauty Slap Twist)"
STERLING KOCH - "Holiday"
COUSIN BONELESS - "Pickin' and Sinnin'"

HOUR TWO:

SKELL - "Everything's Fine"
NAILDRIVER - "Seal the Exits"
UNDER INDICTMENT - "In Too Deep"
13 SAINTS - "The Pledge"
C. SCOTT AND THE BELTONES - "The Great Divide"
TERMINAL ZERO - "Farewell" (live, performed 4/5/1995 at New Sebastiano's in Altoona) (Local Music Flashback)
JADED PAST - "Hurt" (Across State Lines)
SILVERTUNG - "Deja Vu"
ONE ADAM 12 - "Build Me a Bride"
JONAH WHALE - "Let Me Out"

For our next program, we'll continue to dig through the mailboxes to check out some more new local and regional recordings that have arrived in recent weeks, so more new music is in the forecast! We will also update "Local Music News," dig a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, step "Across State Lines" to hear music from an independent band or artist from outside Pennsylvania, and review Medusa's Disco's Ripe CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Upcoming guests and specials include:

AUG. 20 - Fast-Forward Special (Area Musicians Then and Now)
SEPT. 10 - Matt Otis & the Sound
SEPT. 17 - Fyre
OCT. 15 - Lady

(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)
