Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the Feb. 22 edition of Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com).

This week, we recapped this year’s 13th annual Millennium Music Conference, which happened last weekend (Feb. 12-15) at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel and Convention Center in Camp Hill and throughout the Harrisburg area. We featured sound clips from the conference, including comments from some of those attending and showcasing, as well as sound from one of the panel discussions. We featured music from some of the over 200 bands and artists who showcased and performed during Millennium weekend. We also reviewed a CD from one of the showcasing bands; Euan Aura by Lakeherst, in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” And on a somber note, we played a song by Fat Vinny & the Wiseguys (who showcased at Millennium in 2001 and 2002) for a Local Music Flashback, as we reported the sudden passing of Eric Vincent “Fat Vinny” Kelly this weekend from an apparent heart attack at age 41.

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

CODORUS CRUISE LINE (THE C.C.L.) – “Home for Hollywood”
EVELYN’S ASHES – “The Innocent”
COMIC BOOK HEROES – “Go It Alone”
THE PROGRAMADDICTS – “City Girls”
GEE DAVEY – “Loling”
STARK – “I Pay (Man in the Moon)”
AVI WISNIA – “Something New”
VALERIE NICOLE – “Misunderstood”
NATE MYERS & THE ACES – “Just Wait”

HOUR TWO:

KINSEY – “After All”
VS. THE EARTH – “Lightswitch”
39 GOODBYES – “Lights Out”
LAKEHERST – “Fall Back to Me (Foreign Flower)”
KAGERO – “Shanghai Calls Me”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “The River” (1999, Local Music Flashback)
RAHWAY – “Machine”
SPIRIT LOST – “Dreams”
SHADOWS LIE – “Dead End”
CANDACE BROOKS BAND – “Without Love”

This Sunday night, we’ll get caught up on some of the new recordings that have arrived at “Homegrown Rocker” headquarters in recent weeks, including some of the bands and artists from the Millennium Music Conference we didn’t get to play this past Sunday. We will devote the show’s final half hour in memory of Eric “Fat Vinny” Kelly, and feature some of the music that he sang and performed on. We'll also update Local Music News, plus review Valerie Nicole’s From the Heart CD in "The Professor's CD Corner." Maximum local and regional music, and a tribute to “Fat Vinny” on the “Homegrown Rocker,” this Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

MAR. 8 – RAHWAY (MILLENNIUM DRAWING WINNER)
MAR. 22 – DRAIN THE SORROW
APR. 12 – CHRIS VIPOND & THE STANLEY STREET BAND
APR. 26 – ZELAZOWA
