Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 1 edition of Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com).

This was a busy week. First, we debuted plenty of new songs from recordings that arrived at “Homegrown Rocker” headquarters in recent weeks, as well as leftovers we didn’t get to from last week’s Millennium Music Conference recap. We debuted new tunes from Tripp McNeely, Sarah Donner, Adamo Drive, Pan.a.ce.a, Xhibition, Sickleeye, Faith In Exile, Holloe, and Billy Price and Fred Chapellier. We also reviewed Valerie Nicole’s new CD, From the Heart, in “The Professor’s CD Corner.” And for the show’s final half-hour, we paid tribute to Eric Vincent “Fat Vinny” Kelly, who passed away suddenly a week ago. We honored him by sharing the gift he left behind; his music, as we featured tracks from Fat Vinny & the Wiseguys’ body of work, plus live footage from a 2004 performance.

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “The Feeling”
CHRIS V. & THE STANLEY STREET BAND – “Media Controls the World”
TRIPP McNEELY – “Stripped”
VS. THE EARTH – “Story of My Life”
SARAH DONNER – “Spreadsheet”
JACKSON MONSOUR – “Born Today”
ADAMO DRIVE – “High Plains Drifter”
DUBMISSIVE – “Something to Believe”
PAN.A.CE.A – “I Never”
XHIBITION – “Hard Way Home”
SICKLEEYE – “Tremble”

HOUR TWO:

OURAFTER – “Push the Pill”
FAITH IN EXILE – “One False Word”
HOLLOE – “Along the Way”
VALERIE NICOLE – “Demons”
BILLY PRICE & FRED CHAPELLIER – “When the Lights Came On”
(TRIBUTE TO ERIC “FAT VINNY” KELLY)
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “A Lot of Blues Around”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “Like A Mule”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “Time Was (The Norfolk Southern Song)”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “Before You ‘Cuse Me” (live at End Of Summer Jam 8/21/04)
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “I’m Outdoors”
FAT VINNY & THE WISEGUYS – “One More Last Trip Down”

This Sunday night, our guests via phone will be northern New Jersey hard rockers Rahway. Rahway won a guest appearance on the program after submitting their CD in the “Homegrown Rocker” drop box at the recent Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg. We’ll meet the band members, learn their story, and hear tracks from Rahway’s CD Snitches Get Stitches. We'll also update Local Music News, plus review Zelazowa’s Elephants on a Mousehunt CD in "The Professor's CD Corner." New Jersey’s Rahway via phone on the “Homegrown Rocker,” this Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:

MAR. 22 – DRAIN THE SORROW
APR. 12 – CHRIS VIPOND & THE STANLEY STREET BAND
APR. 26 – ZELAZOWA
