Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the March 15 edition of Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com).

When we say we provide maximum local and regional music on this show, we mean it! Wow, what a busy show! We debuted a number of new songs from a variety of artists and styles over this week’s two hours, including tunes from Shattered Ice, Reality Stricken, The Slant, Veinmelter, Puffer Fish, Bojibian, Agony Hill, Punchline and Drain The Sorrow. We also updated Local Music News, and reviewed not one, but two CD’s in “The Professor’s CD Corner;” giving you the lowdown on Mercy Nation’s self-titled CD and Valencia’s We All Need A Reason To Believe. If that wasn’t enough, we broke out a 1997 song by Korruption for a Local Music Flashback, and in the spirit of St. Patty’s season, we played Irish-flavored tunes from The Clover, Mischief Brew, Michael O’Brian Band and Tree. Maximum local and regional music indeed!

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

THE CLOVER – “Kiss Me I’m Irish Today”
MISCHIEF BREW – “A Liquor Never Brewed”
SHATTERED ICE – “Chills”
RISE PHOENIX RISE (MONSTER PARTY) – “Bittersweet”
REALITY STRICKEN – “Read & Sign”
MERCY NATION – “Helix”
THE SLANT – “The Coffin Maker’s Son”
STEAM CITY RIDERS – “Gatorade and Granola”
VEINMELTER – “All Me Woe’s”
FELIX & THE HURRICANES – “The Love We Share”

HOUR TWO:

MICHAEL O’BRIAN BAND – “Whiskey In The Jar” (live)
TREE – “Whiskey You’re the Devil”
PUFFER FISH – “No, No, Let it Go”
VALENCIA – “Where Did You Go?
BOJIBIAN – “Go Out”
KORRUPTION – “Mother” (1997, Local Music Flashback)
TURNING POINT – “Dirty Money”
WISKERBISKET – “Killer”
AGONY HILL – “Falling”
PUNCHLINE – “Just Say Yes”
DRAIN THE SORROW – “NSC Anthem”
THE EMBALMED – “Heartworm”

This Sunday night, we will explore the area hardcore scene with our in-studio guests, Altoona’s Drain The Sorrow. We’ll meet the band members, learn their story, and hear tunes from their debut recording, 2009 5-Song EP. We'll also update Local Music News, rummage the local music archive for a Local Music Flashback, plus review CD’s by The Embalmed and Suicide Switch in "The Professor's CD Corner." Fasten your seatbelts for a hard-rocking ride on the “Homegrown Rocker,” this Sunday night!

Forthcoming guests and specials include:
