Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the November 20 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

This week, we went back to ransacking our mailboxes to find out what new local and regional recordings have arrived in recent weeks, and introduced many new songs! Making their debut this week were new tunes from Nick Stahlman, Steve Brosky, Ron Russell, Chrome Moses, The Commonheart, Six Bar Break, Suicide Puppets, Toothless, Hatred Rising and Sharky. We also dug a 2000 number by The Grimm from the archive for this week's "Local Music Flashback," stepped "Across State Lines" to hear a song from Syracuse, New York 'heady metal' rockers One Step From Falling, and reviewed Nobody's Heroes' One Foot on the Gas, the Other in the Grave CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

SOURMASH - "Mr. Mayhem"
SMOKIN' GUNNZ - "One Horse Saturday Night"
NICK STAHLMAN - "At the Bottom"
TONY N'STACY - "Not Ready Yet"
STEVE BROSKY - "Johnny Corporation"
FELIX & THE HURRICANES - "Coming Home to You"
RON RUSSELL - "In Life"
MYCENEA WORLEY - "Siren"
CHROME MOSES - "Bleeder"
THE PERKOLATORS - "Give Me My Love"
THE COMMONHEART - "Cannonball"

HOUR TWO:

COASTAL REMEDY - "Cozy"
JIM DONOVAN & THE SUN KING WARRIORS - "I'm Doing Fine"
SIX BAR BREAK - "The End"
NOBODY'S HEROES - "Blood on the Banjo"
SUICIDE PUPPETS - "Blind"
THE GRIMM - "My God, It's Full of Stars" (2000, Local Music Flashback)
ONE STEP FROM FALLING - "Wayside" (Across State Lines)
SMALL TOWN HORROR SHOW - "Fearless"
TOOTHLESS - "Parasite"
HATRED RISING - "Sacrificed"
SHARKY - "The Sealord"
X's FOR EYES - "Orchard Street"

On our next program, we will rebroadcast an interview conducted in October with Derek Woods and Joshua Carns of the Derek Woods Band! (Technical problems delayed the airing of the original broadcast that evening, preventing many listeners from hearing it, thus the rebroadcast.) We'll learn about the Derek Woods Band and their career to date, plus hear songs from their new EP Taste! Along the way, we will dig out a "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, step "Across State Lines" to hear music from an independent band or artist from outside the state, and review The Arts' Ethnicity CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Upcoming guests and specials include:

DEC. 4 - Don Hughes
DEC. 11 - Greg Mudzinsky (Happy Valley Christmas)
DEC. 25 - Christmas Special
JAN. 1 - 2016 Year in Review Special
JAN. 15 - Nobody's Heroes

(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)

Bands and artists wanting to submit news items for "Local Music News" may email their news to homegrownrocker@gmail.com. Indicate "MUSIC NEWS" in the subject heading!

Bands and artists interested in having music aired on the show are invited to send their broadcast-quality recordings to: Magnum Broadcasting, 315 South Atherton Street, State College, PA 16801; ATTN: Jim Price/Homegrown. Or drop the recordings off at the station during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 9 AM – 5 PM. You can also email digital song files or inquiries about the show to homegrownrocker@gmail.com.
