Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the August 20 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

For this week's program, we presented the latest installment of our "Fast Forward Special!" In this special, we played song double-shots spotlighting various area musicians and groups; the first song was from early in that musician/group's career, and the second song was a new or more recent tune from that same musician/artist! Through these double-shots, we heard how some musicians advanced or progressed their music through time, while others underwent complete style or genre transformations! Given the nature of this special, we featured plenty of "Local Music Flashback" tunes from the archives, and updated "Local Music News" as well!

Here is this week's playlist (with spotlighted musician in parentheses above each double-shot):

We will also update "Local Music News," dig a song from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," step "Across State Lines" to hear music from an independent band or artist from outside the state, and review Ted McCloskey's Last Flower Standing CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"
