Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the October 22 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

We welcomed guests this week, as we were joined in the studio by Greg "Mudzo" Mudzinski and Rachel Moon. Greg discussed his band project Lady and we featured songs from Lady's debut album, Delirium of Negation. And Greg and Rachel also discussed Love & Light Productions' upcoming 10th annual staging of The Rocky Horror Show, happening at State College's State Theatre Oct. 26-28; and we aired a Rocky Horror song classic from Love & Light Productions' 2014 edition of the stage classic! We also updated "Local Music News," dug a 1986 live track by Altoona heavy rockers Anaconda from the archive for a "Local Music Flashback," and reviewed Pensive Fear's The Awakening CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Here is this week's playlist:

HOUR ONE:

CHRIS VIPOND & THE STANLEY STREET BAND - "Never Again"
NOBODY'S HEROES - "Blood on the Banjo"
LADY - "Take It to the Grave"
NAG CHAMPIONS - "The Jar"
LADY - "Lullaby"
LOVE AND LIGHT PRODUCTIONS 2014 - "Time Warp"
LADY - "Coffins and Crowbars"
JONAH WHALE - "Let Me Out"
THE CREW OF THE HALF MOON - "U-235"

HOUR TWO:

GRANATI BROTHERS - "The Show"
GENE THE WEREWOLF - "The Loner"
LADY - "Hands Up, Chin Down"
PENSIVE FEAR - "Wrong Path"
LADY - "Morrigan"
ANACONDA - "The Pit and the Pendulum" (live) (1986, Local Music Flashback)
LADY - "Now or Never"
X's FOR EYES - "Orchard Street"

With Halloween around the corner, our next program will be the annual "Homegrown Rocker" Halloween Special! Every band, artist or song we play on the show will have some sort of Halloween-themed tie-in, from ghosts to witches to vampires to spiders to zombies to other things that go 'bump' in the night! We will also dig out a Halloween-geared "Local Music Flashback" from the archive, step "Across State Lines" to hear Halloween-themed music from an independent band or artist from outside the state, and review Gene the Werewolf's The Loner CD in "The Professor's CD Corner!"

Upcoming guests and specials include:

NOV. 5 - Calmly Poisoned
DEC. 10 - The Crooked Line
DEC. 24 - Christmas Special
DEC. 31 - 2017 Year in Review Special
JAN. 14 - Dan Stonerook
MAR. 4 - Millennium Music Conference Recap
MAR. 11 - Homegrown Rocker 20th Anniversary Special!
MAR. 18 - Millennium Contest Winner (TBA)

(All dates are subject to changes as circumstances warrant.)
