Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the November 26 edition of 105.9 Qwik-Rock's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Lion Country's Rock Station, 105.9 Qwik-Rock. The show can also be streamed via Qwik's website, www.1059qwikrock.com.

Again, we ransacked the mailboxes to see what new recordings have arrived in recent weeks, and debuted several new tunes on the program. Receiving their first "Homegrown Rocker" airplay were new songs by Anatomy of the Sacred, Back on Track, Beth Bowers, Lemont, Silver Screen, Drive-By Magic Show, Tukurpa, Children Of October, Sharky and the Groove Merchants We also updated "Local Music News," broke out a 2006 song by The Opposition for this week's "Local Music Flashback," and stepped "Across State Lines" to hear music from Atlanta's Revel in Romance.

We will learn about the CD and its creation, and hear numerous tracks from it! In Local Music News...

Last weekend's Patched Together benefit at Altoona's Bavarian Aid Society provided the swan song performances for a couple of area bands. Johnstown's Stone Bridge Blues Band announced that their Patched Together performance was their final show after a six-year run on western PA stages. Likewise, popular Altoona-based party-rock band The Sitch announced that they were going on indefinite hiatus after six years of performing on area stages. And their last show before the break was their set at last Saturday's Patched Together benefit.

"Homegrown Rocker" frequent flyer guest Sterling Koch has announced his newest band project. His new four-piece band incarnation is called Sterling Koch & Freeway Jam, and they will perform an instrumental blend of jazz, funk, rock and blues. Sterling plays guitar, with his daughter, Kate, on bass. George Grund plays keys, and John Goba plays drums. Sterling will shortly unveil his new modern R&B-toned CD, called GuitaR & B.
