Best of luck to you man! It sounds as if you truly were committed to your
project, and had very high hopes. Someone else mentioned the word shit!

Remember one thing : shit happens, but shit is also used for fertilizer
to make new things grow. Ever notice the grass is greener over the
septic tank?

I had surgery years ago (in the Dark Ages) and it didn't take that long for me to recover. But, this kind of stuff is on a case by case basis and everyone heals differently. Good Luck! By the way, get yourself a good barstool (unless you are a drummer) and keep gigging. I kept playing with some obvi...

A member of our band spoke with Fred the day the doors were padlocked and he responded that he was "restructuring the business"? He also said I'll be opening back upon Monday. Well, Monday came and went and the place is still locked. Too bad, because it was nice to have another venue in th...

I've worked with drummers who used combinations of acoustic and electronic drums. I personally like the sound of acoustic drums better, but also like the volume aspects of electronics. I used monitors for my bass rig setup in past (when I played with Sidewalk Romeo) and liked the lower stage volume ...

As far as I'm concerned, for anything larger than a "small" bar gig: No soundman is a recipe for disaster! Soundtechs get alot of shit from people who don't have a clue what it takes to put on a decent quality show. I'm fortunate to have a excellent crew behind the FOH and lighting console...

Carvin is a factory direct dealer, hence no middleman or other dealers/ repair folks. I've had pretty good success with any problems I've ever experienced with their equipment. They are generally good about warrantees/replacement. The only other company I've had this kind of treatment from over the ...

I feel for the staff/owners of these establishments. George called me to cancel Flight 19 bookings (at last minute) several times over past few years, stating he was sorry but PLCB had been in to cite him for noise violations. He never got one when we played there, but it still was unfortunate. I se...

I've seen cases where active has a detrimental effect on your tone.
My experience has been less crap, cleaner signal. I've used both, and my experience has always been that passive DI is cleaner and (as Lonewolf stated) if your signal is strong enough don't bother with the active.

I have a Valley Arts Custom bass that I ordered about ten years ago. I had a set of Seymour Duncan passive pickups installed on it in a P/J combo set up. It has a nice growl, overall smooth tone, and good output for passives. I'd recommend SDs to anyone who doesn't want to spend a ton of money, but ...

Several area newspapers have very poor editing/proofreading. One in particular is especially guilty of this (no name mentioned). These little quotes are just a few of the examples of this. Many of these quotes are hilarious, and it makes you wonder how this occurs?

I have a rackmount POD Pro in my rack, and although I haven't done much tweaking with it yet, I like the basic tones. The models sound great out of the box. This is an age-old subject/argument. But, in the real world you don't get anything for free. Most bars/clubs can't afford to pay bands outright from their bar sales, so they must charge cover to recoup costs. Many bands do play for "the door", etc. Musicians understand that there are expen...
