i remember seeing Blink 182 on SNL and they have all of their Fender stuff out and a whole backline of Fender amps... but then they showed a view from behind, and all the heads were empty 5 sided boxes with open backs, and the most inward "amp box" had a Marshall head facing backwards in ...

Re: Sound Guys...

George Powell from State College... Or anyone that works for him. Has he ever done the house gig at The Brewery? Last time I was there, there was this long-haired guy who had a slammin' mix. The band was pretty "meh," but the mix destroyed! the guy from the brewery is pretty damned good i...

My favorite time of the year for shows in SC is the summer... I love the crowds, not excessively packed like during the school year or insane like football season, but there is definitely sill a draw... My wallet and girlfriend however prefer the football season income! All I was saying was that it'...

Re: In Regards to "The Scene"

It's 2007 now and I think that's where the frustration comes in. In 2 years alot has changed...Where's the crowbar? It's a dance club. What are the most packed bars in state college? Dance clubs... So for 2007, it may get the best DJ scene but I doubt it's going to get anything in regards to bands....

Floor monitors act as a good barrier, but in ears are even better. When some drunk walks up to me and asks me to play some cliche classic rock song, I just yell "I can't hear you". ABSOLUTELY!!! You can also just point to your ear and shake your head too... Even though you can actually he...

I always thought it was cool in a drop tuning to play riffs over top of myself... For example, if there is a spot where there is a big open D or C (whatever your tuning) like in a lot of Chevelle, Seether, etc... play the chord as smooth as possible so that you get good sustain, and then reach over ...
