Guess when I said "play what you want" I figured that a person with average intelligence would understand that obviously it has to work within the band, venue, FOH, etc. As far as playing what's best for the audience I don't think they really care if you're playing through an amp, a proces...

When I started playing out a good friend of mine who had a lot of experience gigging said he didn't understand why people always want to put their amps behind them. He said our ears are on the side of our head, not on the back. Makes sense so I started side washing and still do as long as set up per...

To each their own. Don't think there's a right or wrong answer here, whatever works for you I say go with it. Tons & tons of good gear out there of all types. The latest offerings from Kemper & Fractal Audio are very impressive. Line6 has some good stuff as well. To say that tubes are a thin...

Thanks! Wish I could say that I nailed everything on the first take, or the second, or sometimes the third, or well you get the idea. Usually instead of punch-ins I just redo the track. Seems to capture the feel & flow better for me. Plus since I'm not paying for studio time I can spend all nigh...

A little Christmas instrumental tune for the season-2nd song

Just recorded and posted another Christmas tune, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". It's available at the same link above as "Deckin' the Halls". Just a basic, simple little tune on the acoustic. Merry Christmas!

I'm with Greg on this and icky is a good way to put it. Shouldn't judge without knowing all the details from all involved. And I wouldn't necessarily consider it prima-donish to be upset over a time slot, etc. I've played benefits in the past where I had work or other obligations that limited the ti...

Recorded on a Tascam DP-24 with an SM57. Guitar into 5153 into either Mesa 4x12 or 1x12 (both Vintage 30 loaded). Did one rhythm track with the Roadster but everything else was the EVH. Effects then added after using TC G-Force. Didn't have time to mess around with dif combinations or mic placements...

Like Paul said shitty news indeed. A lot of bands/musicians got exposure through the Backyard Rocker and Homegrown Rocker shows. Kudos JP for trying to keep it alive, not many people would have put the time or effort into doing it in the first place let alone trying to keep it going. Muchly apprecia...
