Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.
I personally think burial is a huge waste of money and earth space.DrumAndDestroy wrote:This kind of makes me wonder if I want to be buried or creamated.rreihart wrote:My wife even has very specific instructions about my dead body.

I don't want to be pumped full of chemicals to be preserved. For what?
If you want to have a viewing, just do it quickly. Rent the casket. No embalming. Then incinerate me. Spread my ashes or make a memorial somewhere.
Oh, and out of respect for the thread, I though Dr. Jack got a raw deal. But, at least he's out of prison now.

Exactly my thoughts. If my wife and family need closure, then a small service will suffice, but I've often said that nobody ever had a party for me while I was alive, so if you think my estate's paying for a meal for you sonsabitches, you're crazy.rreihart wrote: I personally think burial is a huge waste of money and earth space.

I told her to look into donating my body to science. It costs nothing. If not, cremate me and dump my ashes in the Juniata.---->JMS
I'm to be cremated, then my ashes are to be sent into space on a shuttle flight, where the urn will be jettisoned into space. I will orbit the Earth for roughly 18 months, and that orbit will slowly degrade until I finally re-enter Earth's atmsphere and burn up.
(This is an actual option that costs just about the same as a traditional in-ground burial.)

That's what she said.

I am for it after seeing my dad lay in a bed for a few months before he passed away.
Amazing how these threads get turned into a totally other subject.

Give them enough time and they almost resemble real life conversations.
When they do that I log off.
I'm gonna start telling people to quit hijacking my conversation when the subject changes from now on. Wonder how socially acceptable that will be?
