JP's Section
Is there a reason why we cant reply to JP's recaps and stuff? I completely understand why we shouldnt be able to make threads in that catagory, but it'd be nice to be able to comment.
Edit: Maybe i shoulda put this in the help section, considering its website related

Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

That's what I figured. Though I do agree with Colton; there are times I'd like to make comments in some of the threads. It's probably a good idea, though, to keep them locked.metalchurch wrote:I wondered that too, and its probably to deter thread hijacking and things going off into a tangent, etc...
I'd imagine that the "Upcoming Shows" part is where we'd have to make comments at.

That's the way Ron set it up. I like it that way for two reasons...
First, considering how long most of my recaps are with photos and reviews, imagine how long it would take the recaps to load in with 20 responses tacked on the end of them! Folks with slow computers or dial-up modems would be further up the creek...
Second, every time a response gets posted on the end of a thread, that thread gets bumped to the top of the forum. Not allowing replies on those recaps keeps them in chronological order, so if somebody wants to look up something I wrote or a photo I posted in, say, April 2007, they can scroll down and easily find it, rather than having to hunt through a bunch of random order recaps.

If someone did quote a picture, if its loaded once on the screen, its loaded everywhere else... so pictures wouldnt slow anyone down any more than they already were. Replies wouldnt really effect loading time in any way.Jim Price wrote:That's the way Ron set it up. I like it that way for two reasons...

but this makes sense. Guess phpbb2 doesnt have an option to make a forum auto-sort by post date?Jim Price wrote: Second, every time a response gets posted on the end of a thread, that thread gets bumped to the top of the forum. copy and paste
You can copy something from JP's corner and paste it in a general discussion. That way you can selete the part you want to comment on. Would seem the only way to do it.
