I found out about this on Friday and I was completely in shock. I met Earl through Bert(my light guy)and he was a really cool dude. He was telling me that he wanted to come out and watch Way Down East but he never made it out.

He did support the local scene and he will be missed.

My condolences to his family.
I met Earl in the mid 80's... he was "The Roadie" for a band I sang with, Strychnine. I remember I had met a girl, and liked her pretty good... I went to a play she was in, and Earl was there, too... all decked out in long red hair, hole-y jeans, and cutoff denim jacket. I had literally just met the girl's mom, and was trying to make a good impression. Earl saw what was going on, grinned at me from across the room, and started towards us. He struts up and says in a real exaggerated voice, "Heyyyyy, Joooohhnnyy, man! How's it haaaaaangin' man?" ... and I stopped him from asking if I wanted to go burn one! Needless to say, the girl's mom HATED me from that exact point, but looking back, it was funny as hell.
I'm gonna remember that grin best.--->JMS

The Last time I saw Earl he was having Heart problems if I recall correctly! Regardless, that dude was fun to be around! I always remember Bashful playing the song "Burning Bones", and Changing the words to "Earl Jones"Loved it! He was always up there running spotlight , and that freaking long hair would be flying everywhere! He rocked!
He was just a trip to be around, and a great guy! Lots and lots of great memories with that dude! I will definitely miss him!
