I drive into work daily at 0500. Anyone travelling 869 between Sidman and New Enterprise had one hell of a drive then. From Beaverdale clear to Osterburg is was nothing but ice. I only saw one plow truck.
I kept my truck in 2WD and kept the hammer near the floor though Hey, I can see long stretches of road 99% of the time (when I couldn't, I'd slow way down) and I wanted to make sure I had fun since I had to be at work today .
I'll get to this one later...

I got to use the car as a big ice skate while I drove to the supermarket! The trees are even frozen ... It looks beautiful outside - I still wish it would all go away, though. I can't wait for spring.

Just think...a couple degrees colder and we could have a ton of snow. I would rather have that than ice. But then again the visiting I have to do today and tomorrow is only a block away.

Never getting snowed in at your in-laws...PRICELESS!

Your fingerth thpeak with a lithp? What'th wrong with thith picture?

I was out in that mess 1AM the other night. It was bad... It wasn't even ice for but half an hour before that point. I stepped out for a little after work at 12:35 and it wasn't messed up out, like it was around 1AM. But it was so bad that, at 1:30AM, I had to be let out a block from my house (and we'd slid off into the curb like a minute before this), and had to walk up hill, which is usually 2-min walk took around 5mins. I had to do that "step, plant, step, plant, slide back half a step" routine. The street, the sidewalk, and everything else was covered in a THICK sheet of ice! I wish I knew how to use those dollar store ice cleats, but they don't come with any kind of instructions...

My brother fell on the ice yesterday and broke his shoulder. Merry Christmas to him, huh?

Well, although that sux major, at least he didn't fracture his skull like one of my co-workers.
Bones heal - I hope he can find joy in the season anyway!

I guess my whole outlook on this is that yes, the US is going through some major crap, but on our worst day we still have it so much better than those in Darfur or other countries that have fallen completely apart.

Yep, it's kinda corny, but I'll quote Dickens' Tiny Tim...

My finger speak with a lisp when they are going faster than my mind. Did you ever have that happen ? :)

You story makes me think of one my dad me while coming home from a gig one time. I'll have to ask him if I could share with you guys, it's pretty good. It took place with a Pacer, I think it was a pacer. Either way it was funny lol ..

Thanks for the kind words. He'll be fine. He beat cancer. A broken shoulder should be a piece of cake.

Compared to cancer, a broken shoulder is nothing.
