How do you "boost"?

Right, that's what I was thinking. I'm gonna check it out in a little bit cause I need to switch over to Side B of the poweramp anyways, so I'll be right there to see.

Joe,

There are a lot of nice little clean boosts around. Ya, if you think you may want
to shape things further, the EQ seems a good bet.

Volume pedal, depending on what you get perhaps, with the volume backed
off a bit, to me, just pulls some life out of the sound going in (I'm sure there
different pots, wiring schemes, etc. that will remedy this, at least to some extent.

The MXR Boost/LineDriver is cool, the EH Nano that I mentioned in an earlier
post does a great job. After trying a few different things, I ended up going back
to just using the BOSS OD with the drive down, volume up a bit. Since my sound
is a bit more on the trebly, less gain, etc. than a lot of people like, it adds a little
thickness.

When using an OD or Dist ped, the only thing to watch for is having the gain up.
Can "cancel" itself out and you lose a lot if the drive is up too much.

Colton, people with Marshall rack & stacks already have dat dere volume knobbeh cranked and that fancy switch thang there 'way from them a lilbit. This is where do you go from up already.

All some people really need is a hot bridge pickup and an emergency "off" switch.

Sometimes I wish I had a panic button...

Some one on another forum uses a Boss OD-1 with the gain down and the level dimed. He said it works great without pushing things too much.
Being I'm already using an MT-2 as my gain I wonder if it would have a different outcome?

I found an EQ pedal so I'm going to try that. I wonder if there's a rack EQ that's footswitchable? That would be perfect.
If not how could I run a rack eq and be able to switch it? would an A/B or A/B/Y box do that?
I'm going to try that once and see what happens.
