List All the Venues in your area that (help fedup content)

Post by DirtySanchez »

An original Metal band would fly?

Matt used to do most of our booking, and I've always been more in the all ages scene with my other bands. I have some contacts with clubs we've been playing for the last 4 years. Just trying to expand our horizons.

Name me some clubs to look into in Blair/Cambria/Clearfield/Huntingdon/Bedford/Indiana/Pittsburgh/State College, IDK anywhere within 2-2 1/2 hours of Altoona?

I'm not even gonna list any of the ones we play at. Just gimme some names of places where you'd like to see Fedup. Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

Around the Corner in Johnstown. The Ace's Lounge in Johnstown also will house some band bashes. I've seen 3 or 4 original metal bands play in one night there.

Try a place in Bedford called Moez Art. It's a music store and they occasionally have all age jams upstairs. I'm pretty sure the guy's name is Kenny. And contact the guy on here that goes by the battle. He's got some contacts for shows.

Unfortunately you can forget about Huntingdon Co., except for maybe Ronnie's Place in Mt. Union. (It used to be the Hill Valley Hotel) Memories no longer does anything but acoustic acts, thanks to the noise Nazis. (BTW, some of these "acoustic" acts sound louder than whole bands did. The club says it was bass and drums causing the violations. Isn't noise/volume the same no matter what's making it?)

Not true : Bass and drums will be felt and heard futher away because of the percusion they produce.

I understand that, but when I get out of my car, I can still hear the music. I guess as long as you don't "feel" it, it's ok, lol. The noise Nazis just piss me off.

You might speak with Meredith of Cherry Darling Productions out of State College. She/they have been putting together a number of punk/metal shows at The Brewery in State College, and also one or two at Aldo's and other venues. They have a Myspace site:

Save your breath with Kenny. I tried him before and all they want at the Noteworthy are Christian bands, or bands that are uplifting and have a good message (unless he decided to change his mind) - not saying that you guys ain't uplifting. When I tried to set something up for CE with them they said we were too heavy and sounded satanic. Prejudical censorship is the bees knees!!!! I also heard the HMC was good. Never been personally there though, just heard it through the grapevine.

Don't quote me on this, but I heard that Granatelli's (spelled right?) is trying to get some heavier acts in there.
