I just wanted to thank all of you for your input over the last few years. We've waltz by our 4th anniversary of being in business and I must say that once I joined this group, I learned a lot that has helped us go a little smoother. We aren't out of the woods and riding a smooth ride yet, but at least we are on the right road.

Who would have thought 4 years already! Wait a minute...its only been four years, I feel like we've been doing it for 10!

There are a lot of you that have a good business sense. There are some that have a great professional sense. There are some that have a great sense of what works in what area. Some have bits and pieces of advice while others have a lot to offer.

Take out all of the cussing and I would recommend any venue wanting to offer live entertainment to come here.

I was thinking the other day...what would my perfect bar be like...Some day I want to have a stage with a complete sound and light system. I want new flooring Big bathrooms that can just have a hose and bleach taken to them with a drain in the floor. I great big parking lot! And I would like it located in a location just outside of an area such as State College or Altoona....not in town but right on the outskirts. Who knows...maybe someday. Until then, I'll keep the place we have and keep the positive momentum going. I love working with my husband and think that he's one of the hardest workers I've ever known. We do enjoy it...(although there is a lot of paperwork, legal issues, lic. renewals for everything, etc to worry about)

You are extremely welcome. It is not often that a club owner is willing to talk and work with the entertainers in the area so that both parties can benefit as well as share advice. You have also brought forth many issues to Rockpage that you face as a bar and restaurant owner that have been at the forefront in these uncertain business and economic times. The healthy feedback that we can provide information to each other is positive and Rockpage is a great forum to do this.

I have been in this business for many years as well as my other business experience and there is not much I have not seen or encountered and I am always willing to share advice as well as I learn new things from other people on Rockpage all the time to help me too.

P.S. It was nice to finally talk to you on the phone a few weeks ago about my band, The Conniptions, and your place and your future plans.

Congrats Lisa! All jokes aside, it's not easy to even be financially successful in this day and age, and you've conquered that for 4 years now. That's a VERY big thing in this day and age! I wish you the best in continued growth and prosperity of your family and business!

I remember hearing that only 10% of restaurants reach their second anniversary. Good for you, you've doubled that!
Good call on picking Rockpage brains... you can't exactly call up competing places and ask how they do something. Rockpagers collectively spend many thousand hours a year in eateries and bars, and have seen a lot of places come and go.--->JMS
