I try to be laid back and let any in fighting just go by the wayside. well after rehearsal this evening our bassist and lead singer got into an battle of words and now we are done.. damn i'm bummed now i gotta gather all my gear oh well.. who is next? i need a new band !!!!!!!

I know what your going through man. I've had a drummer quit out of the blue before leaving me high and dry with shows booked and also had a drummer that was forced to quit by his dad once again with shows booked. Both of these situations forced me to cancel a few shows in order to get the group reformed but each time it has been for the better. Although some of the bars I did cancel shows at havent had us back because of it. Best of luck to you down the road.

I think if this hasn't happened to you then you either:

A. Haven't been at it very long.

OR

B. Didn't start jamming until you were older and plaed with seasoned musicians.

I used to think being in a band was like having 3-4 wives without the sexual benefit. The biggest issue for me was always one guy in the band with his head in the clouds. Let me give you some examples maybe it will help you feel better:

Super serious, over analyzing everything which makes it damn near impossible to write. Wants to practice 3-5 days a week for 5-6 hours each day. Put deadlines on songwriting e.g."must have ten new songs in six weeks). trying to make the whole band change their image "We gotta stop drinking, dye our hair black and all go to the gym to get ripped" (I am not making this stuff up I swear). THey start talking about which bunk they're gonna get on the tour bus, or where we're gonna eat when we tour JAPAN.

Hope things work out for you man.

this is important stuff that needs to be decided now! what happens when you at the music choice awards and you didn't get measured for your tux enough in advance? you don't wanna show up looking like a hayseed!
