SunSet Strip @ McGoos last Night with Crow In the Snow

Post by rickster »

So I got my designated driver and we went to Mcgoos last Night and heres how it went:

Picked up 2 buddies from huntingdon and I drove up full of excitement anticipation for the good time that lay ahead.
When we got to mcgoos a guy backed into me and smashed my drivers side quarter Panel while i was looking for parking.( he was completely obliterated) I told him i wouldnt involve the police if he just exchanged insurance info and what not.( not sure that was the right thing to do but I did it) Then we watched CROW IN THE SNOW open , and I just have to say They were kick-ass.The bass player proposed to his girl on stage and she said yes.
Sunset strip was a good time too, never seen a band get that many girls to dance with each other. There were like 20 out there and no guys.
I got totally smashed and the monster came out. .I should have stuck with pepsi..I fckn quitin/never drinking again.
Oh yeah , on the way home the designated driver got pulled over for speeding and I thought it prudent for me to act like an ass for the officer.

Other than that , it Really was a good time :P

Crow In The Snow is the band Tommy Brown is in... I worked with him last week, and he was anxious about how well he'd do. I bet he was fine, he always sweats that stuff. Sounds like a night for the record books... the police-record books. --->JMS

Mama Corn had a similar experience last spring with the police... we played a show to a packed house near Duncansville. It was a private club, and one of the regulars likely didn't like not having his favorite parking spot, because someone made sure a team of small-town cops were in place down the road as it ended. They made more money that night than anyone in the deal, and they weren't invited. They picked off DUI's like flies.
We're doing another one of those shows April 11th with the Hillbilly Gypsies (plugplug), and this time it's at the Ramada in Altoona, and we cut a deal to get rooms 25% off so you could afford to sleep it off there. They can't DUI you for walking across the hall and to the stairs. The hotel's happy to rent the rooms in a down economy, bluegrass fans aren't penalized for drinking and not driving, and bluegrass bands and promoters grin happily. --->JMS

yes it was one for the "police record books". i know alot of people who got stopped that night. corw in the snow did an awesome job. tommy b was on top of his game as usual. i know for a fact he impressed alot of people there. Congrats to jason and connie on their engagement. Who ever said that boobs have nothing to do with rock n roll is full of shit because i have seen more t n a with this band than i have seen in any tittie club. and we haven't even been playing for a whole year yet. i'm glad you guys had a good time. rickster i think you were the one wh came up and talked to me after our first set. if so it was good to meet you. that night is a little fuzzy.

Thanks again to everyone that came out Friday night and helped us rock! Many thanks to Sunset Strip for having us. I know we had a blast, and I think everyone else there that night did too.

We're going to try and make a Bootleg DVD of our original material we played that night. This is still in the works.

Stay tuned!
