DAMMIT...not again...AHHHHH!

Post by JayBird »

Just when all these pimp my ride douchebags are growing up and realizing they threw a small mortgage worth of fortune into a car and fad they no longer want, the Fast and the Furious franchise hits the big screen again.

DAMMIT...another ten years or so of every pimply faced, snot nosed kid thinking that they are a race car driver.

whatever happened to the days when 3 inch duals were all the rage? now kids get half the engine with twice the exhaust act like triple the douche bag. oh well. i ever tell you about the kid in my math class when i was in high school? he swore up and down that if you put 10,000 into a civic, it'd tear down any small block chevy you put up against it. i do belive my one buddy put him straight when he simply pointed out that if you put 10,000 into a small block chevy, you basically had a top fuel dragster.

i hate the fast and the furious movies. what a waste of film... or digital memory... or however they shoot films nowadays...

I actually liked the first two movies in the series and expect to like this one as well. But Jason, I think you are aware of my similar opinion about every '98 Cavalier with an obnoxious exhaust and a spoiler that raises above the roof of the car.

yeah the kids who put an exhaust and a muffler on their cars (+5 BHP) and then add about 700lbs (for every 100lbs of weight add .1 seconds to a 1/4 mile pass) of stereo equipment and then big chrome rims (unsprung weight bad!) and think that their car is fast...some do it right, most don't.

Those kids with a Cobalt or neon and the over sized exhaust to make it sound big and bad are the funny ones. Talk about stupid ... All they do is make it sound like an over sized lawn mower.

Buying a car at $30K and putting $20K worth of work into it... If we're gonna race cars around, I'll just throw the $50K straight into a Vette and we'll call it a quick night. But who the Hell has $50K to throw around nowadays, other than the CEOs and almost anyone at AIG

Oh yeah I hate those fast and furious cars that terrorize the dark streets of Altoona.
And how in the hell are they not getting fined for their exhaust being so damn loud, some of them are louder than my car.

I always thought it was funny that they add weight to their cars and think theyre fast. Hell most of them dont even look fast!

My fav is when they add body kits and use stock tires/wheels and dont even lower the car. Thats classic shit!
Or have it 5 different shades of paint and primer.

Interior paints, chrome trimming, euro tail lights, etc..
I call it the Wal-Mart dress up, or the AutoZone starter kits.

But if you put $5,000 into a ricer (turbo, etc) it will tear most V8's a new asshole no doubt about it. They are very efficient engines and make alot of power for their size.

I gutted most everything from my car including the interior panels, sound deadener carpet, rear seat, AC & AC condenser, power steering, smog pump, cats, hood latch, mech fan, hoses, wiring, all other "useless crap".
I lost about 300-350lbs from the car atleast.
I'd like to weigh it to know for sure, but I'm guessing that I'm around 2,500lbs maybe less, and thats pretty light for a V8 car.

My wife asked the owner of Krazy Kustom(Z?) in altoona, "Why does every half primered, dented soda-can, looking piece of shit car in Altoona have one of your stickers on their back window? That has to be horrible for business don't you think?" I fucking died laughing. She never met him before this.

He did admit to hating to see it though.

My wife is great. It's pretty nuts that I'm the soft spoken one in the house.

Hehehe car thread...

Image

I don't like body work usually, has to be tastefully done or on a car that performs so well you don't care what it looks like.

Edit:

Yes I have a big exhaust, but I put on a muffler thats pretty much normal sized. Starts off at 5" coming out of the turbo, 4" under the car and through the 'cat', 3" to get it past the rear-end/susp-linkage, and a 2.5" muffler (so that its tolerable in cruise situations).

I do have a twin 3" pipe that replaces the muffler for when I want to be obnoxious, but thats rare anymore.
