But don't forget the worst noise offenders of all.. Harleys and other v-twins..

Two retards within 3 blocks of my place feel the overwhelming need to do 170db fly-bys at 45mph in a residential area, no matter the time or how many kids are on the street.

Damn things are loud enough with the pipes stock..

Least the ricers in my 'hood' keep that nonsense on the Blvd....

:x

I'll take the nasty buzz of '1.6L of fury' over a Harley's crappy sounding note any day..

And $10,000 will build you a 'weekender'. As in you'll be lucky it will make it through one race weekend, import or domestic. :)

You F-body crazy people are lucky, parts are dirt cheap for new ones. Yes I'm jealous about that. Good headers for a WRX start at $1000.

The loud pipes on a motorcycle could mean the difference between life and death though.

Hey Buck - I think Wyotech is great for the area/economy, but instead of treating the kids like they are in a military and making them wear uniforms and be all proper and such...tell those little pricks that if they get caught just ONE TIME racing on Route 22 or trying to outrun the law, etc they will be automatically expelled. Blairsville hates Wyotech for the above mentioned problems with racing, loud cars, and acting above the law.

The sound of the pipes are directed backwards and don't do much forwards at all to warn grandpa, sitting at a corner behind a tree, or Missy, who is busy talking on the cell phone. Loud pipes provide more of a false sense of security than a warning signal.

When riding in traffic, rule #1 is to scope out possible hazards and be prepared to react to them. A biker with loud pipes might tend to lower his/her awareness, mistakenly thinking everybody hears them. By the same token, the biker is at noise point zero and may not be able to hear a dangerous traffic situation developing.

I like my stock pipes.
