They are some of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, they carry such a calm confidence about them that they always open up to you and are an absolute blast to talk with (* they are still scary as all hell cuz you know when they're talking to you, they are thinking of 153 different ways they can kill you with the ball point pen in your pocket ) and holy hell do you get some great stories out of those guys.slackin@dabass wrote:them SEALs are gnarly mofos.

The funniest part is after the SEAL Det took them down, the pirates are now pissed off and promising revenge. Hmmm...Somali pirates vs. US Navy SEALs. I'm predicting KO in less than 10 seconds there. Your winner, the US Navy!!
EDIT: Rockpage is always my first visit online in the morning, then Yahoo. Guess what hit the front page on Yahoo??

Those skinnies won't give up!

Sounds like more target practice for the Navy Seals.ToonaRockGuy wrote:The funniest part is after the SEAL Det took them down, the pirates are now pissed off and promising revenge. Hmmm...Somali pirates vs. US Navy SEALs. I'm predicting KO in less than 10 seconds there. Your winner, the US Navy!!

Can you identify a genital wart?
Yeah, I know that look-right-through-you look. Those guys are the sh*t. I had a friend who used to share beans with me in high school. He went to the Army, became a Ranger, and even advanced into the serious covert-ops stuff. When he finally came home, he was a badass mothertrucker. 100% military bearing, you swore he slept standing at attention. I was glad to have a guy like him watching out for me.
Surely, the Somalians are posturing. I heard on the news today that we've had their bases of operations watched for years. There's talk of surgical bomb strikes via predator drone, like in Afghanistan.--->JMS

I know lots of these special ops guys personally and many of them do not appear as you would think and just look like average guys but they are highly trained and are the most unassuming people. They are always prepared to go anywhere at anytime and they do not discuss their assignments and do not want any glory. They are definitely a close knit group. We, as Americans, should always appreciate that these people are out there watching out for us.

I agree 100%. When my sub passed thru the Straights of Singapore we were "escorted" by an Indian Navy battleship, she stayed about 1000 yds off of our stern and just followed us locked and loaded because those straights are infamous for pirates. They'll try to board anything they think they can overtake. Several subs have returned with bullet holes in the SHT on the sail because the pirates mistook it for a smaller sized ship (much less a United States Warship).RobTheDrummer wrote:I asked a co-worker what he thought of this whole pirate thing, because he retired from the navy after like 20 years. He said there's no way to stop it on the seas. Merchant ships are unarmed and there are million miles of sea out there. He simply said, you just can't stop it.
