Musician-Rigged it!

Post by Colton »

Well, my exhaust is kinda falling off my car on the one side. Its up for inspection this month, but had to find a way to hold that one side up for now. Tied it up with one of these big ass guitar strings outta my 12's.

Ever use your music gear for something other than its intended for?

And no, we dont wanna hear about where you stuck that microphone.
Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

Sometimes I get my girlfriend to sit on my bass rig and I turn it on the highest setting and jam for her pleasure. Wow I suck at trying to be funny.

I had a woman lick the headstock of my guitar then put her mouth over it up to the first tuning peg once...does that count for anything???

I got 10 to 15 for using a nice fat bass string to slice the head off a piece of.................cheese. It was eyeballing me and yes, it was swiss.

I've been using an E string as a dipstick for my transmission for almost a year.
Stand back, I like to rock out.

Colton, you know it's a temp fix, cause after a few heat cycles of the exhaust it will weaken those strings until they lose their strength.

I'd use a clothes hanger or wire of similar thickness atleast.

I use my old cymbals for clocks. Better than paying Musician's Friend for them.

I'm turning two factory-defective Fender Frontman 15G practice guitar amps into speakers for my TV room. I'm not using the amps themselves, simply pulling the speaker backing boards out, and replacing the boards, speakers and all with speakers from a set of Yamaha bookshelf speakers, on home-built backing boards. I'll have two little Fender amps mounted on my wall! (Incidentally, there's no quality problem with the Frontman amps [yet], we just sell a million of them, which increases probablility)

I remember Felix Kos telling me that the Canes played a prison that had a Fender P-bass that came from Johnny Cash's band in the 60's. They were using it to prop a door open. --->JMS

Yeah Johnny, it was SCI Pittsburgh. Cash's bass player left a bass there and it was used to pry a door open and busted the headstock off, the director still has the bass. Why it was used for that ill never know.

Some time ago, when I was a kid, I used a guitar string and a sony walkman motor to make a tatoo gun, it actually worked pretty good.

Years ago I used a Cymbal stand as a prop for the hood of my car.
I'm a drummer...I just hang out with musicians.
