anyone else notice the interest in Poker in the bars?
i'm getting a bit of the fever myself. can you play for money online anymore? what sites are legit?
i think i have a knack for winning the big one
those High Stakes Poker games on gametv are amazing. what they risk on one hand is amazing. 150-200 buyin. 500K on others! their ability to take on risk is the key. almost no one can stomach it, i guess that's their key to success
I love poker. Haven't played in awhile though. Kenny rogers lyrics are words to live by: Know when to hold'em and Know when to fold'em. They only show you the exciting stuff on tv. They don't show the three hours of everyone folding 95% of their hands to get to that point. I know dudes who pay their bills with winnings. Fuck that, I just do it for fun.

"Doyle Brunson says the key to no limit is to put a man to a decision for all his chips. Teddy just done it. He's representing Ace's the only hand better than my cowboys. I can't call and give him a chance to catch. I can only fold.. if i believe him OR
Rounders is a great movie. I cant get enough Poker. I hold 2 games at my house every week and try to get out more to the bars to play. Im big into Tournament Poker. We play Tournament style in my home game but there are usually only 15 people to 20 people tops. Anyone interested in playing feel free to contact me on here.
We got all highed Up and somebody put the car in the Pool!
I usually play online, which sucks because I'd rather play with actual people. There was a place around here that had games going almost every night, but the guy that was running it got caught stealing and was fired. I'd really like to find a place to play again.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

Some bars in town have these poker torneys every week. What's the deal with that? How does that work?
In Altoona there's free tournaments every night of the week at different bars. Go to www.worldtavernpoker.com to find out where and when. It's free but you can win seats to the WSOP.

I don't know what it's like up in PA, but down here, technically it's illegal. The place that was having these tournaments was running them 6 nights a week. And they weren't shy either, they advertised in the paper with big letters saying "CASH PRIZES". I think the reason they didn't get busted was because state troopers were playing in the tournaments. A fire hall in this county had a poker tournament to raise money for a new ladder truck, and the county liquor board shut it down. As I'm sure everyone on here knows: It's not what you know, it's who.

amazed not more interested in poker. thot musicians were rebels. they appreciated unique talent and ways of making $ by unconventional means. balls to follow dreams etc
your topics are actually kina on the boring side of life
yep.
in all honesty , someone risking $$$ doesnt make them a better or 'cooler' person. id rather spend $ on other things. as i said, im not a card player or gambler.

this kid "Durr" started playing poker at 17. by 22 he made 5 1/2 million online. he played four tables at one time making 200K in less than an hour.
that's special.
most of us here won't make 5 mil in our LIFETIME.
you can't lose what you don't put in the pot. you can't win much either. risk/reward
If i was actually into poker, id prob play. I am into recording music and such. id rather spend $ on that.
The reward for either creating music, or making a good record is much more important to me than money.
