i probably wouldn't hesitate on buying one if i wanted a pontiac. you will still be able to get parts after the brand is discontinued. and any gm dealer would have to honor the warranty.

it's ok. i prefer to stick to older oldsmobile's. i bought a 1980.5 cutlass and it ran way longer than the 2 hundred bucks i payed for it say it should. same with the last car i bought. a '79 olds delta 88 for like 300 with taxes tags and title and it still runs great over a year later. it's destined for the derby though, this year. i figure i bought it for 3 and sold it for 1, basically, i was in 200 dollars and got less than a dollar a day out of it. you can't rent a car for that cheap.

that's why the american companies are going under. everything gm released between '82 and '97 was junk. un-reliable, un-powerful, and un-gas-mileage-friendly. they can't compete with the asian auto makers. let them go under. i hate to say it, but let em go down.

My first car was a 92 pontiac Sunbird. I paid 500 bucks for it, drove it for a year and sold it for 600 bucks. The kid who bought it from me had it for 3 years and only had to replace a water pump. It had over 150,000 when I bought it and well over 200,000 when the other dude sold it.
