St. Anger?

Post by EyesOfAnguishbassist »

Ok So I'm not a huge Metallica fan but I notice that mostly EVERYONE hates this album. I'm probably gonna get bashed for this but lately I've been jamming to it in my car and I seriously think that a few songs on that album rule! hahaha.. The only thing that I think really are lame on it are some of the lyrics are really cheesy but I really like most of that album. Maybe its because I'm not a metallicaholic but i dont know. Thoughts?

I didn't mind the album, but I think the production is what turned a lot of people off to it. It's a very raw sounding album, and I think that's the way they wanted it. The music buying public wasn't ready for an album that sounded like that. They still aren't.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

Suck anger is one of the worst ones they made. Hetfield even said next to the Justice cd; he wished he would never had made it ..

That was your 666th post dude...shaweet.

I liked St Anger, the snare sound or the raw production never bothered me. The riffs in Frantic and Sweet Amber are pretty cool. But I also liked New Coke, so whada I know.

I took alot of shit for it as well, but i liked the record. The C# tuning didn't fit Metallica very well and i missed the rippin solos but i understood what Het was trying to do.All that said i still thank the one for Death Magnetic.Just can't seem to get enough of it.Ofcourse i'm old.

I'm not a fan of it either, but it does have some good return-to tunes. Frantic, St. Anger, and a few others.
