This is soooooo overblown. 50,000 Americans die from the normal seasonal flu each winter. Flu happens. The Swine flu is practically nothing compared to the regular seasonal flu that occurs each year.

BTW, of the 50,000, most of them are elderly, sick and immune compromised (many from the cancer meds they take). These folks were just too weak and impaired to fight off even the common cold.

They predict that 40% of Americans will contract H1N1. I think we should send more money over seas to make us feel better. They are working on an inoculation for trial use on volunteers, college age for now. Then they want to control group children after that. No guarantees that you'll survive. Why not control group death row inmates instead of children. Give them an extra biscuit with their grits n' gravy.

in the link, ron paul said the inoculation they used in the 70's killed like 25 people, but the actual virus only killed 1. excellent. i like those odds. i think i'd rather catch the virus instead of getting inoc-ed up... gedit?

I agree. If you are not in any of the at-risk groups like immuno or respiratory problems, etc., you are probably better off in the long run getting this flu and building a natural defense to it. Even though its pretty lame as far as flus go, it has gone thru some scary mutations very quickly. Actually getting it will increase your odds of being immune to further variants.

Who knows, this thing could be 1 mutation away from Captain Tripps.

Perfect example of how both American media's overblow something for the sake making you watch. It's the freaking flu. It's not going to be a revisit of the 1918 epidemic because we know so much more, and people are in better general health. I suppose with a 24-hour news cycle, you have to show something.--->JMS

i would think there is some kind of news somewhere every 24 hours. it's just pick and choose. unfortunatly our media wants to promote doom and gloom to our nation instead of keeping us informed and well aware of what is actually going on. the media is controlling most of the people in the us. it's a bunch of malarkey.
