Did you ever have those moments on stage with your band when everything clicks ? Could be a whole gig, one song, or even a moment in a song.
When a singer sends chills through you, or a guitar player nails an amazing lead, Or the rhythm section locks in a perfect groove ?
These things can send endorphins flowing through the brain. And the sensation is as good as any chemical high. In fact it is a chemical high.
I think this sensation is as addicting as any good drug. That's why we see so many of us going out and playing for next to nothing. (It will take a lot of gigs to pay for my investment into equipment).
So last night I had a few of those moments where everything came together. (I don't want to appear to brag about our line up.) But the vocalist was ON. The guitar was ON. The bass and drums clicked away in sync and the keys were nailing a pocket that sent my endorphins swarming.
It didn't happen all night by any means, but it did happen a few times - a few moments of a high.
And I'll keep going back for more as long as I can.
Discuss your assessment of stage "highs".

I know what you mean, Bill. I can name a few specific ones for me, as they get stamped in my brain. In no order:
1. 4 Dees Lounge, with Gin & Juice. First time we played there of a 5 date summer Sat. nite run. 3rd set, we open with our version of Phish's ¨Sand¨. I got absolutely lost in the funk, and opened my eyes to see folks dancing all the way back to the back bar, perfectly in time with the drums and bass. Best moment I've ever had onstage, mainly cause a lot of people I know said that this band would never be good enough to play the Dees.
2. The Hurricanes @ The Hitching Post. Filling in for Bobby, we're playing ¨I'm Your Captain¨ and the power goes out. Felix grabs Butch's acoustic guitar and we finish the song by cellphone light and lighter light. Awesome.
3. Banditos. The original lineup, too many moments to mention. We had at least 4 per show. Still the best band I've had the pleasure of being in. What a run we had.
