Nick's Fat City and King of Queens

Post by JayBird »

Does anyone remember the music venue/club on E. Carson Street in Pittsburgh called Nick's Fat City? It's now Club Diesel (right across from the Rex Theatre). Anyway, I was just watching an old episode on King Of Queens. This episode was about Doug taking Deacon out to clubs after Deacon's wife had left him. Doug was try to get Deacon back into dating and trying to help him forget about his wife. Anyway, there were a few still shoots of Nick's Fat City. This was the club that Doug and Deacon had been going to. I though it was kind of neat to see a once popular localish venue in a huge syndicated program. Lost Ledny had played there a few times right before Nick's shut it doors for good.

diesel and the rex both suck. i hate being exiled to a different part of the building just to drink a beer during a show.

Nick's was a great place to play/see a show. My old band played up there in 02.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.
