To start, there was a low turn-out for Stuck In Kaos and Lost Chapter at Aldo's. Too bad, good bands.
But as I was wrapping cables and packing up mics there is a crash outside. And I mean right out side. Turns out some drunk bastard plowed his van into a Jeep Cherokee, sending it, airborne for about 40 feet, into my little Focus. And thus, my car into the Cherokee in front of me.
He actually tried to leave the scene. That didn't work out so well for him (see: damage done by Dodge van at 60-70 mph). Needless to say, I believe his van, 1st Jeep, and my Focus are totaled. Terry's Jeep, that I was pushed into, is fine. Just some scuffed paint, maybe a cracked rear bumper.
Good news: he is supposedly insured...for now.
So, my question is: does anybody know somewhere I can get a decent used car fairly cheap?
We were in the market for a second car, now I guess, we're looking for 2.
Sidenote...nobody was hurt, thank your personal higher power.
Steve
So... last night sucked.
So... last night sucked.
It's impossible to know the burdens carried by any man or demons that haunt his steps.
That sucks! Glad no one was hurt, too bad he wasn't. I have no remorse for drunk drivers, I just hope they don't die so they have to deal with their actions.
As for the car thing, how far are you willing to travel?

That sucks, Steve! Our drummer, Jim, is currently looking for another vehicle as well.
My car's been scuffed up at gigs, too. A few years ago, two drunk guys who thought it would be a fun idea to wrestle in the parking lot after a show broke off one of my side view mirrors (I had a Focus at the time, ironically). Back in July, I came to load up my car and found a huge dent in the side door. My only hypothesis is a drunk stumbled into it, because there's no way it could have been done by another vehicle due to where and how it was parked.
Of course, I've never had my vehicle totaled.
I try to keep my car out of the way when I park at gigs. Unfortunately, that's not always realistic.

"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

That sucks Steve! I heard that Stuck In Kaos was playing as of 11:45PM myself, and would've been out there had I known that a few hours earlier. Bah. Knowing my luck though, I probably would've been in the middle of all of that, in a literal sense...
I don't care for the idea of drunk fucks being on the road. I've got my reasons for that. People are retarded on the road as it is without being drunk and not even being able to control what little they were BEFORE being drunk!
Good luck getting a good used vehicle in this area. Lemon Law is probably a pretty useful thing if people would take it to effect, but instead, they keep passing cars off as junk to each other til they can't be repaired at all any more. I'm more glad that no one was hurt in the whole process, but still... All of this could be a HUUUGE issue on your plate!
