lol.

The bible contradicts itself quite a bit. It's best to never quote it.

In my limited experience, most of the people who say christianity contradicts itself know very little about it, but are experts at listing every supposed contradiction. Dig a bit deeper. Just because the Hebrew bible is the basis of many religions that you don't like, doesn't mean that there isn't anything valuable to gain from reading it (whether you are a person of faith or not). There is a lot of collective wisdom in a book that has taken thousands of years to compile, and covers the mistakes and triumphs of people just like you and me. It's a mistake to discount the wisdom that can be found in its pages just because of a few "contradictions" and it saddens me to hear someone say something like "best not to quote the bible because it contradicts itself."

For hundreds/thousands of years, the bible has been a moral compass and knowledge of its teachings was the mark of the educated. Our nation's entire legal system (and England's before) was built on biblical foundations by men who revered the bible and respected its teachings.

I would much rather go to the bible for intelligent advice than the rockpage forums.
