2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees....

Post by AllHolLowsEVe »

Anyone else see the list? I personally think its one of the better classes..

Red Hot Chili Peppers
KISS
Genesis
ABBA
LL Cool J
Iggy Pop and The Stooges

I think Genesis and KISS are long overdue..

Discuss :)
Videos destroyed the vitality of rock and roll. Before that, music said, "Listen to me." Now it says, "Look at me."

Overall, the most appropriate list for awhile, though how LL Cool J can be construed as rock and roll is FAR beyond me. Let's induct Liberace, he played music!

hahah yeah man I know. I'll never understand why rap artists get in when there are bands like Rush, Def Leppard, and many others still waiting. But I think the rest are well deserving of the honor.

Those acts are part of the list of 12 nominees and not the finalists for 2010. 5 or 6 acts from the 12 will be selected as the finalists and inducted in the spring of 2010

Here is the complete list of 12 nominees

http://www.woio.com/global/story.asp?s=11183097

I do say that The Hollies, Kiss, and Genesis, are way overdue for induction.-

I still want to know where is Rush, Yes, Kansas, Heart, Grand Funk Railroad, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Chicago, Tommy James & The Shondells, Paul Revere & The Raiders just to name a few that are still missing.

They should not have rap in the rock n' roll hall of fame. If they are going to do that they should rename it..

I am always at odds with some of their selections too. How can anybody rightfully say that Run-DMC, The Sex Pistols, Blondie, and Patti Smith, are more musically talented and deserving to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame than any of these other groups?

Here is a list of who is already inducted on this site.

http://www.rockhall.com/inductees/inductee-list/

This is just a partial list of those who have been eligible for many years but have been bypassed for many that should not be in the R&R Hall of Fame at all. It is amazing who has not made it yet.

Alice Cooper
Bachman Turner Overdrive
Bad Company
Badfinger
Blood, Sweat, & Tears
Blue Öyster Cult
Bon Jovi
Boston
The Box Tops
Bryan Adams
The Cars
Cat Stevens
Cheap Trick
Chicago
Cliff Richard (Solo & with The Shadows)
Deep Purple
Def Leppard
Devo
Dire Straits
Doobie Brothers
Electric Light Orchestra
Emerson, Lake, & Palmer
Foghat
Foreigner
Genesis (hopefully this year)
Gentle Giant
Grand Funk Railroad
The Guess Who
Hall & Oates
Heart
The Hollies (hopefully this year)
Jethro Tull
Johnny Rivers
Journey
Jr. Walker & The All-Stars
Judas Priest
Kansas
King Crimson
Kiss (hopefully this year)
Moody Blues
Neil Diamond
Pat Benatar
Paul Revere & The Raiders
Rush
Scorpions
Status Quo
Steppenwolf
Steve Miller Band
Styx
Supertramp
Thin Lizzy
Three Dog Night
Todd Rundgren
Tommy James & the Shondells
Toto
Tower of Power
Yes

They will put Britney Spears in before they put any of those deserving people in. I am thinking the R&R HOF is ran by the same people who run the grammy's. People who have no idea what music is ..

Looks like they passed by The Embalmed again as well...

Seriously, though, I think it's such a joke how they pick people. I did enjoy James Hetfield's speech when Metallica got in, mentioning Deep Purple & Thin Lizzy among others that SHOULD have already been inducted.

where did you find this list at? it doesn't seem quite accurate. I not disagreeing with the list it seems like a lot of newer bands when they still have a lot of older they haven't inducted.
The script was written, and the villian was cast. The provocation needed, they will provide. They did it before, they'll do it again.

The list of who is ALREADY inducted is on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame website link in the previous post. Everybody else listed is eligible but not there yet.

I always laugh every year when this thread gets posted. You get 10,000 people posting about how the inductees don't belong and how there are a billion other artists more deserving of being inducted.

Any type of awards ceremony, whether it's the Grammies, MTV Music Video Award, or the Rock 'n Roll hall of fame, is run by a bunch of suits and pretentious music critics. I don't watch the Grammies because I don't give a shit who made the music industry the most money that year; I don't bother with who gets inducted into the RRHF, because I don't care who some pretentious music critic thinks was culturally relevant in Februrary - March of 1987 and thus deserves induction. 8)
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

It always makes me wonder why "halls of fame" for non-competitive things even exist. It's all opinion. Why isn't there a painter's or sculptor's hall of fame? Oh wait... there is... it's called the Louvre.
... and then the wheel fell off.

Kiss is huge...But inducting them into the RRHOF before Alice Cooper is like wiping before you poop. Doesnt make any sense and should almost be illegal.
