Hell no, not Romo. Remember the Seinfeld when George had a man crush on To-nay (Tony).

I just am not quite sure what he has done to earn the Peace Prize. I've seen a lot of other people do more in the name of World Peace. Heck, even Oprah has done more.

I'm not saying that he's not done some towards it. I'm just saying that there are probably others out there that are more deserving.

And I may not approve of his policies, but I would never compare him to Hilter. I think it is in bad taste. My opinion.

Seinfeld was the best show ever. Larry David is the MAN! Has anyone seen his new show called "Curb Your Enthusiasm". It is equally amazing. The new season just started and the Seinfeld cast did a reunion thing on it. Its been hilarious. If you dont know about Larry David or Curb your Enthusiasm....go google!!! You'll be glad you did.

Ronald Reagan ended the Cold War and got nothing. Seriously, what has the President done to get this award?? I'm sure some of you will be able to answer this question for me.

Jim, my only question would be what change. We still have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, even though he ran on bringing the troops home. There are still prisoners in Gitmo, and he ran on closing that down quickly. The major foreign policies of Bush are continuing.

I want the peace price, I want the Peace Price!

I guess we will just have to wait and see. That is what I had to do for 8 years with elections that were a nightmare.

I guess when you are a grownup you learn that apologizing when some raging lunatic ravages your country and the world for 8 years is a way to start to change the way you are perceived.

Of course telling people to fuck off and suck my ^%$ also has a nice feel good thing going, how about it Frank?

All I can say to this is ->

All seriousness though, dude. How far out of sync are you? How do you perceive the world, in your own personal perspective? What is it with this man love for obama? You show so much affection for him

Reagan didn't end the cold war. The USSR economy collapsed during his administration. It would have collapsed no matter who was president.

If you do believe Reagan ended it, what exactly did he do to end it ?

what about nixon withdrawing troops from vietnam? surely that should have earned tricky dick a peace prize...

i just don't see why obama deserves one. not trying to bash him, not trying to start some deeply heated political argument. i just don't think obama has done anything yet to deserve anything.

Bill, he stood up to the bully, took none of his bullshit and made him bankrupt their economy trying to outspend our military. He did the opposite of Jimmy Carter, who was afraid of Russia. He did bring down the USSR economically, which eventually led to the end of the cold war.

My question, what did Clinton do to stimulate the economy in the 90's? He did nothing, Congress lowered the capital gains tax by half and that alone led to prosperity. That and the .com bubble. Look it up.

In the real world people all over our great Country are Proud that President Obama won the Nobel peace prize. It is simply an honer that was bestowed on him from Europe. Has nothing to do with liberal or democrat. I can see why a lot of people here would be angry about it though. It does make America look like a possible world leader again instead of just a stupid bully.

I don't really want to fight about it, it is done. If you don't like it, oh well. Welcome to my world. I just went through 8 years of hell...

It seems to me like you took the Buch admin way too personally. The things that went on didn't happen just to make you unhappy. Every admin has a reason for the things they do, and I'm guessing their motive is protecting this country. Whether a person liked Bush, or Obama or Clinton, the things they did they did to help the country. I'm glad someone from the US won the prize, but I questioned why some of our past presidents didn't win it for the things that they accomplished. I want Obama to succeed, I wouldn't wish failure on any administration. If he fails, our country fails. I disagree with his policies, and I disagree with him constantly apologizing to everyone, and I'll show that when the next election comes around. My biggest issue with politics is the hypocrisy in both parties. The "we can do it, but if you do it's wrong" attitude is what's causing a lot of problems in this country. Nancy Pelosi said in an interview "I like to be disruptive", but when someone called the President a liar she was furious. The man that called him a liar, who's name I can't remember right now, was told to apologizes. But, apparently, it's ok for a Congressman to say that Republicans "Want you to die quickly if you get sick". Why doesn't he have to apologize?? Charles Rangel shouldn't be in charge of the Ways and Means Committee, why hasn't he been removed?? I don't blame any of these things on the President, I blame Congress.

My whole point to this is that, like it or not, the people in charge will continue to be in charge unless the citizens on this country stand up and take action. If you don't like what's going on, get out and vote. If you didn't vote, don't complain. I agree that the President winning the Peace Prize might make America look like a world leader, and I hope that's the case. However, there are still people out there that would like to see this country destroyed. It's those people that we need to elminate. That might sound a little harsh, but if they are out to destroy us, we need to destroy them first.

This is why the Nobel Institute gave Obama the Nobel Peace Prize.
http://nobelpeaceprize.org/en_GB/home/announce-2009/

I believe some on the Nobel committee just wanted to slap W Bush in the face. Obama has said he doesn't deserve it.

By reading what the institute says, it seems they also want to put pressure on Obama.

The World does have a greater respect for Obama than they did for Bush. That is shown in polls. The question is, does that respect translate into anything positive for the United States ?

When I heard Obama had won the Prize, I made a statement. Last night on SNL, as alluded to in another thread, they made the same exact statement: Obama won the Prize for not being George W. Bush. I think he was nominated and won because the rest of the world was so pleased to see an end to most completely effed-up foreign policy in American history.
It was thought in the world-community that nobody could beat Rove and the Neos, because they had successfully rigged elections (using cronyism in the first one and media manipulation in the second), and Obama beat them in spades. Many outside America see us as loud bullies who ride rough over everything in our path (hey don't hate them, some of us ARE), and the world heaved a sigh of relief when Reaganism was handed such a coup d'etat. For those who oppose what Obama represents to say he hasn't done anything is downright laughable. Sure he hasn't! He hasn't started a war in the wrong country. He hasn't hung a chad, or outed a CIA agent. He hasn't enriched his VP's corporation with 10-digit no-bid contracts in countries we invade. He hasn't parachuted onto the deck of a warship and pronounced "Mission Accomplished," then sent 4000 more of America's best kids to their Maker.

And Joe? Reagan did most certainly not end the Cold War. His standing at the Berlin Wall was a publicity-stunt, albeit an effective one. He, along with I and the rest of the educated world had known for quite some time that the USSR was bankrupt, due to corruption and a war with non-traditional combatants in Afghanistan, and for him to stand at the Wall and say, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" is pretty much the same as Ol' Songsmith standing at the Circuit City store entrance saying, "Mr. Circuit, tear down this City!" IN FACT, the reason the Reaganoids all hate Obama so vehemently, is because he is the LIBERAL VERSION OF REAGAN. He came from the speaking circuit, making the same speech over and over so he had to be pretty good at it. He was seen as The One by the fringes. He spends alot. He is pretty much a mirror-image of The Gipper. I bet that sucks for the conservatives here, huh! Too bad! --->JMS

rush-itejoe

There's no doubt in my mind that you listen to Limbaugh. Either that, or you think alike.

Does his constant spinning annoy you or does it put a smile on your face?

I  when I hear him say, "You know what he's (insert any liberal name) really thinking ?" and follows it with something totally made up. Then I  when I realize the Rush-ites believe him.

BTW are you coming to the blues jam today ?
