I agree. I try to stay on-page when I can. I do understand that it's how America argues now, though, and that sucks. It just looks confusing and rambling.--->JMS

You post as if there is something wrong with that statement. One is listed as a specific right in our Bill of Rights. The other does not appear on any of our founding documents.
You don't see the irony? I guess not, nuance isn't a strong suit.
I always marvel at how important owning a gun is to some people. I have a right to own a hammer, too. Big deal. It's just a gun, to people who aren't afraid of everything. Put bullets in, aim, fire. Yawn. I have a few guns. I have a few handtools. It's not the power of life and death for me, like it is for the folks who are ineffective otherwise. I don't need that power, and if I did, I could do it a bunch of other ways.
Besides, doesn't the Bill Of Rights give the right to "bear" arms? That means "carry," as in "carry a weapon, in an army." It's perfectly clear. You have a God-given right to be in the army. Hoo-rah.
And the Constitution guarantees us the right to worship whatever god we choose AND free speech, doesn't it? Wouldn't that mean I can say "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Xmas" or "Crispy Frikkin' Chicken" without fear of repercussion? But I can't, can I? Filtered freedom.
Let me point something out to you that your talkshow heroes can't: You can't find me a line, passage, word or single letter in the US Constitution that completely defines conservatism as rule of law. Any such inferrence is strictly in the "translation" or "interpretation" of someone who only sees what they want to see, someone who FILTERS FREEDOM through their own biases. The entire point was to encourage free thought by free citizens, not to define puritanism, rightwing elitism, theocracy or the power of the monied upper-class. Of which you are not a member.
I'm sure your final solution is in your post. Combine healthcare reform and gun-ownership. Shoot the sick and injured. It would reduce population, thereby decreasing unemployment, reducing welfare payouts, solving the SocSec crisis, drastically cut insurance-corp payouts, opening private lands for business use, eliminating govt meddling in healthcare, cutting wear and tear on infrastructure, opening up the money supply... goddamn, it's pure GENIUS! You could finally wield that life-and-death power you so desire, AND make a tidy profit! Oh, but Joe:

Don't get sick.----->JMS
Komrade Koolaid, you are a sick puppy. I post 3 short sentences and you extrapolate all of this unbelievable bullshit of what you think I think. Wow, I am starting to worry about your health.

Try pursuing happiness when you're sick and can't go to a doctor. When you're sick and can't get proper care so you can go to work. Try pursuing life when you're dying with cancer and your insurance company dropped you.

Also, I like stossel as well.
The debate has about health care has been going for decades. Where was the plan when they controlled the White House and congress ?

Hawk wrote:Why do some of you worship money so much that you are against a public option ? Obviously (to me) is that having every American with health insurance is a moral thing to do.
Because the public option is simply a bad, unsustainable plan. The end simply does not justify the means.

In case you haven't noticed, we also can't afford it. We are so far in debt that we can't even come close to paying the interest on the debt, let alone new programs. A bankrupt country is unable to provide for its citizens.

Besides, if we were a democracy (which we are not), all the polls indicate that you are in the minority on this issue and even without the public option included, this health care bailout for the insurance companies would be shot down in flames in a national referendum.

Now, could you please explain why you so desperately want the public option?
It's not so much as the public option as it is about corporate greed from the insurance industry and making an attempt to get every American affordable coverage.

The public option would create compitition. Something the insurance companies are against. (Why do the Republicans support a lack of compitition when compitition is at the foundation of capitalism ? A VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION . Is congress being paid off to keep away compitition ?)

The insurance companies are exempt from anti trust laws. Another thing that causes a lack of compitition. Why is this ? Another attack on capitalism. No compitition is not how capitalism works. It IS haw socialism works.

If we went back the even the Ronald Reagan taxes, I think we could pay for it. Don't forget, the public option IS NOT FREE. One has to buy it like any other insurance. I will be subsidised by the government to make it affordable. An I believe (I could be wrong about this) the government will also subsidize the poor if they choose any other private option.

The fact are there to show that people with health insurance (therefore access to a doctor before their condition is so bad they go the Emergency) are more productive at work and cal off sick less.

The Republicans keep harping on "Let people cross state lines to buy insurance. I thought the constitution is the very reason this isn't done. Sates are on their own to regulate insurance in their states. So when you want to dis the constitution it's okay?

And since each state has different insurance regulations, what's to keep all of the insurance companies moving their offices to the state with the least regulations. Making things worse ! I'm guessing that will be the Republican plan.

Educate people, keep them healthy and America will be better off.

"The end does not justify the means". That would be true ONLY when you put a monetary value on human life. I say the life of one person is more important than all the money you (both the plural "you" and the singular "you") have.

The fact that we spend twice as much on health care as any other country (without twice the success) is directly related to the greed within the system and the rationing of care by the industry.

I heard Limbaugh point out that when someone is really sick from another country they come here for treatment. That does happen. BECAUSE our health care system caters to those who can afford it. If you're rich, you can buy the best doctors in the world. Which is exactly is how Limbaugh says it should be ! I heard him tell Shatner that. Is this really what you (plural) right wing sheep really want or believe ?

In my world, morality trumps money. And it will not bankrupt us if we go back to Reagan taxes. America will not implode if we all have access to health care. America will be better for it.

EDIT: I forgot to respond to the fact that the majority of polled people are against the public option. I contend that FRANK is a true representative of the majority of people who don't even know what a public option is when they were polled. And Fox continues tell lies about it and they eat it up.

I believe you can't read, that explains a lot. "Run ons through out ? Do you know what a run on is ? Do you mean run on sentences throughout ? JUST READ IT and see how easy it is for me to show how ignorant about politics YOU are. Unless you're afraid.

Okay, then, here's what I think you think:

1) "Freedom" means I can do whatever I want, as long as you have final approval.

2) The "have-nots" are nothing more than a resource, to be exploited by the "haves."

3) Poor people deserve to be poor, rich people deserve to be rich, sick people deserve to be sick, you deserve to be in charge.

4) The US Constitution is written for you and people who think like you ONLY.

5) You are being persecuted for thinking what you think, despite being the only one who knows "The Truth."

6) Your heroes only want what's best for you and America, not fame/power/wealth.

7) Capitalism is perfection, and victimizes no one.

8 ) History is whatever you say it is.

9) Everything is whatever you say it is.

And finally...
10) You must be an extremist rightwinger, or you are not a good American.

THIS...

http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/hea ... health-car

is something that scares the hell out of me. Some asshole religious nut actually believes God is against health care reform. This man knows the will of God and God does not want the people to band together (as in a government) and help the less fortunate.

THE WORST PART...The Senators who joined in this prayer service. It makes me sick. Is the world upside down. The Religious are against helping the poor and the "accused" anti religious are for helping the less fortunate. Why are the liberals taking the moral route and the religious taking the opposite of what their religion should stand for ?

This idiot and the right wing senators are among the most anti Christ like movement I ever saw. it makes me sick.

I dare you to watch it in it's entirety. It is  IMO...
