For Those That Remember Majic 104.9FM...

Post by ToonaRockGuy »

Just passing this along, for anyone who remembered and enjoyed Majic 104.9 before it became Rocky 104.9...

My good friend, mentor, and former boss Jim "Voodoo Daddy" Pettiford passed away yesterday of pancreatic cancer. Voodoo was a one of the nicest people you'd ever meet, always with a cold beer and a kind word for ya. A great guy, could grill the hell out of a steak, and was one hell of a guitarist, too. Loved him some Hendrix, he did. Jim was working for a station in Watertown, NY, with his wife, Rose, when he was struck ill and passed away.

I'll miss you, my friend. God Bless.
Dood...

Wow.

This is sad news. Jim was a good person, and I got to chat with him a number of times when Rose and I worked together at the Q.

My sincerest condolences to Rose, his family and friends.

I remember when Rose worked at the Q, they lived across the street in the Knickerbocker housing area. They were always grilling out on the porch, and the smells would always make their way into the window at the Q house, and drive me crazy!
