Tea Party - Invitation

Post by Hawk »

I'm not looking to start an antagonistic political discussion here. I'm just asking if anyone else wants to go? I will be keeping my mouth shut.

I plan on going to a Tea Party Tuesday January 19th 7:30 pm.

Faith Baptist Church. Corner of 40th street and Fourth Ave. (One block up from the old Q94)

Guest speaker will cover the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

i went to the one tea party in johnstown over the summer (if im remembering correctly). that was a pretty cool experience. it was pretty huge - two big tour buses rolled in, they had people singing and speaking and a lot of proud americans. very cool....normally don't get too involved with politics. but was a cool thing to go to. met some very funny people. i know a lady at work that will love to go, im gonna tell her about it and see if maybe we can both go! :D

Hawk, I would join you but the Blair County Tea Party is being co opted by the Rev. Gary Dull and his congregation. They have ruined the meaning of this movement. It is supposed to be about having our representatives remember the Constitution and limited government. It is turning into an "this is a Christian country" and Anti-Abortion Movement thanks to Gary Dull.

I know Gary. He and I have had some philosophical discussions. I am not a member of his church. I think I know the speaker (won't know till I see him). He is a man I respect and I'm interested in what he has to say relative to the constitution.

I'm curious why some of the right wing think they are the only ones who know the constituton.

I'm sure there will be religious overtones, but it will also be organized and not a "mob like" mentality.

Hi hawk, I think I'll try to make the tea party. i am a strict independent and I love to hear and see what is going on with people on both sides of the political spectrum. There is really something going on on this country that has everyone fired up on one side or the other. What is constitutional about the left making decisions underneath the public eye, in private? And pushing things forward without the people knowing what they are doing? Especially since Obama said all legislation would be open to the public.
