Music Trivia - Who knows this ..
I am sure we all know who "Mouth of the south" Jimmy Hart is? Well, before he got into wrestling he was a member of popular band - this was in the late 60's and early 70's, this band had a huge hit. Can you name the band and the name of the song? The winner will get a can of beans ...

Ladies & gentlemen, we have officially found 2 people on the face of the planet that would know the answer to the question. And I know from experience that Jim knew that off the top of his head, and not because he had the internet at his disposal.Jim Price wrote:The Gentrys - "Keep On Dancing," 1965

I saw raw last week. The was funny .. I wonder how it is going to be this week though. Chris Angel is the host and TNA is having their official start of head to head on Monday nights. I wonder how long it is going to be before TNA changes their name to Monday Nitro ...

Ah, yes, The Gentrys. I have a couple 45s they did including Keep On Dancing (#4 million seller in 1965) and they had a hit with a cover version of Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl (it was a bigger hit in the Johnstown area). They had several other singles including a cover of Wild World but they basically just had the 2 hit records.

The interesting thing about Keep On Dancing is that it notable for the fact that it is actually one short recording repeated twice to stretch the record out to the length of the typical pop single of its day. The second half of the song -- after the false fade, beginning with Wall's famous drum fill -- is the same as the first. Though the group had Jimmy Hart and Bruce Bowles as singers, their biggest hit was sung by guitarist Larry Raspberry.
"Keep on Dancing" was also a #9 hit in 1971 for the Bay City Rollers.
